You either have a restriction in the cooling system like maybe a restricted heater core or the water pump impellers are corroded and no blades are left. Only way to tell is to remove the water pump and inspect then replace it since its off.
Or remove the heater core hoses and blow thru.
If anyone ever put a stop leak in the radiator this can cause blocked lines.

Heater blows cold on idle

If this is after the engine has already been running a while, it could be a issue with the thermostat staying shut, water pump failure, or some kind of blockage or restriction in the cooling system causing the coolant to not circulate through the heater core

Heater not blowing hot air

When the fan motor is loud it means its out of balance. Kind of like a dishwasher.

Could a business card or two have slipped through the defrost vents ? or maybe leaves have accumulated in the fans squirrel cage.

A heater motor isn't hard to remove. Usually above your feet on the passenger side held in with 3 or 4 screws and one heavy wire.

2002 s-type sport package Jaguar, heater not working. Only blows cold air. Any ideas?

System suffered from air locks.... has bleed ports in engine compartment on hose and 'stat housing.

Another problem common to these is the Blend Door motor failing. You can listen to it move with engine off and key in RUN position...turn heater cold to hot and listen for whirring in dash area.

If engine has suffered overheating the coolant flow valve just under the brake booster melts and no longer moves.

This system can only be properly diagnosed with a Jaguar compliant scanner. There is a on-board diagnostics that will show readout on the cluster.

Search ''JAGUAR ETM DIAGNOSTICS '' with your browser search engine..'Google' is good.

ETM is a test mode for Jaguar cars . You will find sites and PDF tutorials and other information on the search. .

02 Jaguar S Type - Heater blowing cold air

Has the vehicle overheated recently, if not there is a failure of the Coolant from engine valve controller, that measures flow through the Heater Matrix. Come back with more, as necessary.

the heater control valve is often the cause of this. there are 3 metal lines running down the right fender, if 2 are hot and 1 is not with AC on max the valve has most likely gone bad,

Cold air

Sounds like its the blend door actuator has failed or loose or cracked vacuum line going to it. These are usually not fun to replace although I dont know about your specific model, but most that I have seen you have to remove the dash.
