Question about 2005 Dodge Neon
I have a Dodge Neon 2005 which was working fine until yesterday. The problem I have is that the car is now locking the ignition system. The car won't start. I checked the battery, the alternator and starter and everything is working fine. I was able to start it yesterday, but this morning I had the same problem. When I turn the key, nothing happens even though the car turns all the diagnostic lights, it does nothing afterwards, not even a sound. I suspect a problem either with the ignition switch or the chip in the key, but I don't have a clue on how to check for this problems.
You may be right, try a spare key, that will elimanate the key chip, you will need a scan tool to diagnose this problem, also with key in crank position is there power at starter, the scan tool can tell yuo if computer is reading key chip signal and if signal if right and also you can see if starter is receiving start signal, good luck.
