Question about 2000 Acura TL

My Acura TL 1999 is showing check engine light, P1259

My Acura TL 1999 is showing check engine light, the on board diagnostic scanner reads P1259. I suspect the problem might be with the exhaust but i am not sure. Can anybody please assist with the possible causes/interpretation of this code. I recenty discovered the exhaust was blocked with net-like materials inseretd in the catalyst by some quacks. I have replaced the catalyst and removed as much of the nets as i could but i suspect there might still be more in the exhaust. The exact messasge was like "Vtec system malfunction rear bank 1" The engine kinds of seize on top speed when i try to increase speed by stepping on the throtle.

I just serviced the car and the oil level is okay. Could blockage in the exhaust prevent the lifting and trigger code P1259?

Check the oil level on level ground.

V-TEC valve open at the pre-set RPM is total depend on the oil to opening the third valve.

If the pressure is not at the right level then the lifting will not be completed.

The lift sensor will trigger P1259 to warn the driver for V-TEC malfunction

To reset check engine light... Disconnect the ground (black wire) from the battery. Wait for at least a minute for the computer to reset, then reconnect the ground. Start your car, and the light should not come back on.

Reset engine warning light

To reset the Engine Light, you'll need a OBD II scanner. It cost about $100.

Or, you can go to you local auto-parts store. Most stores will turn the Engine Light off for you for free using their scanner.

Check engine

You can turn off the Check Engine light by either disconnecting the battery or by using a code reader to clear the codes. However, if the problem still exists it will come right back on. Instead you should get the code read, find out what the problem is, and fix it. Your local autozone or checker auto parts store will read them for free.

Check engine light + TCS = braking vibrations

You need to get to a repair shop and have them read the diagnostic codes (the computer port is in the center console under the change holder/lighter). With that amount of mileage, it is very likely the code will show that the oxygen sensors and/or catalytic converters need replacement. If that is the case you will also need a tuneup (plug, wires, etc). I had this done a year ago at 160,000 miles. It is a pricey repair but I get 29mpg at highway speeds and it runs nicely on regular (less power but no pinging).
