Locate the EGR valve life sensor.

Check for damage or dirt that can prevent sensing / follow the EGR lift /movement.

Import car has small EGR and small EGR passage tube.

Carbon will build up under the EGR and inside the passage tube.


Order a new EGR base gasket and start cleaning / soaking the carbon buildup with WD-40.


This is a time consuming task.


Call all the carbon off and re-install the EGR valve.


Reset the can and take it for a test drive.

P0403 is EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) circuit malfunction
P0727 is Engine Speed Input Circuit No Signal

What can I do to fix these codes from recent inspection?


P0300 is a random engine cylinder misfire has been detected by the control computer of the system, it is called the PCM. Common causes are dirty fuel injectors, engine intake manifold vacuum leaks with poor quality fuel as the last item. Other issues cause this problem as well including general condition of the engine like low compression, only careful testing and diagnosis will find the exact cause or causes.
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold
This indicates that your Catalytic Converter is not cleaning up the exhaust emissions to a preset level, it is mionitored again by the PCM.
Possible causes are engine vacuum leaks (may be related to P0300 problem), exhaust leaks upstram of the Catlytic Converter
All poss causes are listed below.
Possible causes - Three way catalyst converter Bank 1
- Exhaust tube leaking
- Intake gasket vacuum leaks
- Fuel injectors may be faulty
- Fuel injector leaks
- Spark plugs may be faulty
- Improper ignition timing
- Powertrain control module (PCM)

P0507 Automatic engine Idle speed Control System RPM Higher Than Expected idle speed during test.
Possible causes - Dirty throttle body
- Electric throttle control actuator misadjusted or damaged
- Faulty Electric throttle control actuator
- Intake air leak
- Poor electrical connection to the Intake Air Control (IAC) valve

Cylinder 5 and im also getting p0507 idle is higher then expected. ive change plugs wire cap button cam sensor and distributor. but now its throwing the codes p0300 and p0507 it goes from p0300 to p0305...
