The factory installed coolant in your vehicle is pinkish oragne in color and is know as dexcool, if this coolant is still in your vehicle there are "multi-vehicle" coolants that will be compatable with both standard green coolants and dexcool. but definitely do not mix green coolant with dexcool, it will turn into a nasty brown gel that is very difficult to remove. so green coolant with green coolant and use an "add to any color" coolant for the dexcool

Keep in mind that there are some things you wouldn't want to substitute on your car when it comes to fluids and maintenance but you should be safe to use an aftermarket anti-freeze. Most anti-freeze is a form of alcohol since the boiling and freezing points of alcohol is much higher and lower than plain tap water.

How many gallons of antifreeze will it take ?

Anti freeze is mixed on a 50/50 basis. The coolant capacity varies so check the hand book for capacities and mix the anti freeze to water before adding to radiator. Drain radiator first so as not to mix different anti freeze products.

Can i use gm dexcoll premixed antifreeze/coulant for jeep compass 2007?

Check this out very carefully as they may not be compatible with the materials used in the engine and cooling system. Some anti boil/anti freeze are ethylene glycol based and others use a different base product

Can I replace my dex coolant with regular antifreeze? in my 1997 chevy malibu and how

they say you cant mix different coolants but you can go to auto-zone etc, and buy a cheaper anti-freeze for general motors products. its a 50/50 mix for all gm cars and can add this coolant to any brand of anti-freeze. its called universal type anti-freeze. to run a differant anti-freeze in it, you have to flush out complete engine and radiator because the dex-cool and the green stuff do not mix well and cause engine corrosion etc. dex-cool is reccomended for all chevy engines. good-day !

What kind of anti-freeze goes into a 2001 Hyundia Elantra and a Hyundia 2005 Santa fe

i trust you are talking about the radiator(ive had people refering to their a/c system recharge as installing the anti freeze). this takes a standard good quality anti freeze/coolant mixed with distilled water.

Where can I get anti-freeze for a 97 chev cavalier

Most late 90's GM products used Silicon free, pink anti-freeze. It is available at all auto parts stores, and most big box retailers, like Walmart or Meijer.

What type of anti freeze should I add?

Suzuki forenza uses Green silica based anti-freeze. If you mix the wrong kind with it, it will gum up your thermostat (90 dollars) and potentially mess with some of the smaller cooling fluid tubes and passages. Not to mention, the water pump is not to fond of gritty fluid. So if you see discoloration in the bright green fluid, better drain it, flush the system out with a garden hose for 5 to 10 minutes, and refill it with new fluid.
