Here are the instructions for the 3.0L dual overhead cam or the 3.4L SHO engines. Look at the picture to make sure it looks correct. If it is a different engine there are special tools required and you will need to take it to a dealer.

    Disconnect battery ground cable.
Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from camshaft position sensor.
Remove camshaft position sensor retaining bolt and remove camshaft position sensor from engine.

Make sure camshaft position sensor mounting surface is clean and that camshaft position sensor O-ring is in proper location on camshaft position sensor.
Position camshaft position sensor onto engine and install retaining bolt. Tighten retaining bolt to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb-in) . CAUTION: Do not overtighten camshaft position sensor retaining bolt.Damage to camshaft position sensor or engine mounting surface may occur.
Connect engine control sensor wiring to camshaft position sensor.
    Connect battery ground cable.

Where is the cam shaft senser on a ford ranger 2.5 td 2002

Ford did not put a 2.5 in a Ranger, maybe a 2.3 ?
2.3 = 2007-01-27_154722_2.gif
3.0 - The CMP sensor& synchronizer/shaft are located behind the intake manifold (i.e., back near the firewall on a Ranger) on the top of the cylinder block. If you just need to replace the sensor, it is a simple job of unplugging the electrical connector and removing the screws holding the sensor in place. Here is a sketch of the sensor to give you an idea what to look for:

Were is the camshaft senser located

which engine?
1.3 L M13A I4 (petrol)

the part has an ASE/ (std) name, CKP.

here is the easy answer, if car has DIZZY , its in there.
if not its on the end of the cam shaft.
i presume you know Mr. Cam there in the head.?

2000 Silverado-4.3 ltre-cranks over-wont start-consistenly puts out P1351 code-crank senser, cam senser, ignition control module, spark plugs and distributor have been replaced. Wiring from PCM to crank...

Yes. First, in the fuse block under the hood check INJ A fuse and INJ B fuse. INJ A fuse is circuit 1039 which feeds the coil. If the fuse is OK, replace the coil electrical connector. I stock 2 of these at my dealership because they are needed quite often.
FYI P1351 is an ignition coil control circuit DTC.

Need specs for 2000 alero 2.4L 4cyl.

Crank senser has 5 Volts ground and signal that flutters on ascope or waveform meter when turning over with the 5 volts on or running the cam senser is exctly the same just in a different spot and it looks a little different it works the same way as the crank. there both light switch failure on the quad 4 as theirs no half way they work or they dont and the car won't hit a lick if they are bad, no spark no injector no fuel pump wont even try or sound like its going to start fuel pressure is 40 lbs 30 running injector OHms are 1.5
