My opinion would to plug the hole up will some sort of caulking (like the kind used for house windows to keep out the water and cold) to plug the hole up.

You can use as hair dryer - but don't put the nozzle too close to the headlight glass otherwise you'll cause it to crack

I have noticed that my passenger side headlight cluster has become discoloured on the inside (it looks foggy). Is there any way I can fix this apart fr buying a new cluster?

If it is due to water on the inside, remove the bulb. Then tape a hose over a hair dryer and blow hot air into the bulb hole until the water disappears. Reinstall bulb.

I have a 2002 hyundia elantra that headlights keep blowing out whenever I replace them

Cars today use high intensity headlamp modules that generate extreme amounts of light....as well as extreme amounts of heat. Because of this, whenever you replace a bulb module it is important that you should NEVER touch the glass portion of the bulb with your fingers - or anything else for that matter. If you do, the glass will heat unevenly and explode as soon as the bulb reaches temperature, which only takes a few seconds. It is difficult to do, but it is doable. You can use a clean, dry paper towel to hold the bulb if necessary, but the best way is to just hold it by the base as you install it. Also, ensure that there is no moisture inside the headlamp housing. Any water touching the hot bulb will cause instant failure.

I have water in my 2001 Dodge ram head light cover drivers side, how do I get it off and drain the water from it???

Just a suggestion if you don't want to take your headlight off to try and drain the water, take a small drill bit and drill two holes in your headlight one on the bottom on the side where the water lies the best and one on the top so it can let it run out good, not no big drill bit but one that will let it drain good, won't hurt your headlight.

How do i know if my water pump is go out in my 2000 dodge status?

You should notice a small amount of coolant under the car after it has sat for awhile coupled with a small amount of coolant coming from the weep hole located on the water pump itself.

Check the hose connection at the pump to make sure it is tight and look for signs of a cracked hose to eliminate that as the source of your leak.

Sunroof leaks water, how do i fix it?

It's normal for a sunroof to leak a small amount of water past the glass. Although the glass is mounted to brackets, the glass sits in the roof with a weatherstip sealing it. When the vehicle is driven, movement is allowed and rain water will seep past. The channel below the glass has drains in the corners that allow water to flow down a hose and to the lower body. These hoses are routed through the pillars that hold the roof. If one of these draines are plugged the water will back up and overflow out of the channel and into the passenger compartment. Open your sunroof and first check the seal around the glass for nicks, cuts, tears, gaps and correct if neccesary. Then look in the front corners of the roof opening. You will see drain holes. Be sure they are clean. Unfortuantely you can't easily see the rears and the headliner may need to be removed. Sometimes the hoses are plugged with dirt/tar from underneath. Good luck.

My headlights (low beam) and my brake lights keep blowing

If you are using halogen bulbs convert to standard incandescent bulbs. As halogen may be brighter, they are susceptible to blowing if they are jarred while they are hot, or if you install them and get fingerprints on them. Fingerprints on halogen bulbs leave a small amount of oil which causes heat irregularities on the surface of the glass and causes them to blow.

2000 Xterra intermentantly overheats (temp gauge goes up) no leak appears present. Coolant level appears correct. Heater will blow cool air, then start blowing hot air. Temp will then come back to normal....

sounds more like the thermostat may be failing. generally a water pump starts leaking out of the "weep" hole in the casting before it quits. just look at the front of the water pump for a greenish streak or an obvious leak.
if you also suspect you heater core may be getting plugged now would be a good time to back flush it to get rid of some of the gunk.
