SOURCE: 1996 dodge intrepid 3.3 transmission wont shiftout of first gear

two issues here. this may be a low fluid issue. i would check the level of the fluid first. the next issue could be a blown shift solenoid. these are located inside of the transmission pan.also, check the filter as well.(transmission filter could be clogged)

SOURCE: 1996 dodge intrepid runs fine but runs rough some

Check the wiring first off. Check anything to do with the engine sensors, look over the wires that lead up to the plugs. If you find any that are oily or dirty, pull the plug and clean it out. You might just try generally detailing your engine as well. The second thing to check off the list is vacuum lines, give them a good looking over for cracks.

SOURCE: which hose do I need to replace on my 1996 dodge intrepid

I dont know what its called, but i know what you're talking about, but you'll probably have to cut if off of the head, as it melts to it. These deteriorate quickly, and need replaced. You will have to purchase it from a dealership as parts stores dont carry it. Or try a junk yard, but chances are its as bad as the one you already have. Dont let them give you straight heater hose either, it will kink, some tard gave me some said it'd work, after 10 minutes of telling him it would kink, and taking it home and tryin it, it kinked. Bad idea.

Why do I have no brake pedal after bleeding and fixing a broking brake line?

What sequence did you use? You either didnt do it correctly or you still have air in the lines.

I got a 99 dodge intrepid I changed the front brakes and calipers but the brake pedal doesn't go down any suggestions please

If it is hard to stop (brake doesn't go down). Check the vacuum line to the brake booster. Or the booster diaphragm is bad. The diaphragm is behind the master cylinder on the fire wall on the drivers side. Big, round and black.

1996 Dodge Intrepid with 3.3 engine looses brake pressure. Bled the brakes and changed the master cylinder. Same thing happens. No leaks detected. Brake booster? Or something else?

In most cases I would suspect the master cyl. And you could have a defective unit if you bought a rebuilt part. Its possible one of the calipers or wheel cylinders is leaking internally. But its almost always the master.
The booster only applies extra pressure to the master. It would not have any effect on the fluid.
There might be a chance something is going on with the ABS but I doubt it.
You may have to plug the lines at the master to find out whats going on.

96 dodge intrepid brake lamps do not turn off. already replaced brake lamp switch. lights stay on even after removing fuse. please help

Hi,
Hmmm... sounds like a power( live line ) melted the insulation and fused together w/ the brake line, thus it powers up your brake light.

Check your rear brake wire harness leading to the front connection main harness., if the harness are covered w/ plastic insulation, cut the insulation and look for a wire that melted and fused together.
If you found the wire, seperate it and put some insulator tape to prevent power line shorting.
The power line usually colored RED.
Hope that helps!

We have a 96 dodge intrepid with 90,000 miles. It hasn't been driven more than 100 miles per year in the last 3 years. It now will be used daily. What maintenance do you recommend for it to be safe to...

Have brake hoses/ brake linings/ belts /hoses/tires/ battery/& connections / steering alignment inspection /at least looked at, you could most likely have this all checked out at Midas muffler/or some place like that for around 20$ or so .and if they say to much $$$ i would get a second opinion/it also could use exhaust inspection.Hope this is helpful. should you want any further assistance feel free to ask. Thank You .

Need to know what type and size the front caliper bolt is on a 1996 dodge intrepid ,not sure i have the right size tool to remove it.

They're guide pins for the calipar to slide on while braking,as well as bolts. A 10mm deep socket and ratchet should do it. Hope this helps.
