The weakest link is on the transmission pan gasket.

You have to buy the transmission service kit.

The kit has the pan gasket and the transmission filter.

My cost is only $ is a lot more.

Use Amsoil Synthetic ATF if possible. It will help increase the service life of the transmission

Transmission fluid gets into engine oil on 2004 RX330 Lexus No external signs of leaks Engine overfilled transmission is near empty after ~2000 miles of driving

there is no way transmission fluid can get into engine oil .unless the radiator that cools both has an internals leak . which case you need to have that pressure checked and replaced

I have a 1994 DeVille, with less than 100K miles. Should I be concerned about 2 small oil leaks (they appear to happen directly under the engine when sitting in the drive way). We just had transmissio

Yes, Those small leaks will become big leaks. Is it trans fluid red color? Then I would go back to the shop where the trans service was done to have them re-seal the pan gasket.
Thank You for using

My 2004 mountaineer transmission has a steady leak. What are the possible problems? How much should I expect to pay? How difficult is the labor?

Where does it leak from?

You have to ask all price questions
at a trans repair shop

This is a social web site, not a business

If you have to pull the trans to repair, then it
will get expensive

You change trans & power steering fluids every
30,000 miles

Not changing fluid or leaks are a death sentence
for your trans

Engine running fine. Had Advance run a scan and they came up with codes 171 and 174. He cleared the light and it didn't come on again. I am about to go on a 800 (one way) mile trip and am concerned.

These codes can be caused by loose vacuum hoses or leaking intake manifold gaskets. Unless the leak is bad, it will not usually affect the performance of the eninge other than to run a little warmer than normal. The condition is not likely to worsen significantly over 800 miles, but I would check for leaks if I were you. To check the gaskets, start the engine and spray starter fluid on the gaskets. If the engine speeds up, there is a vacuum leak where you sprayed. OK?

03 Dodge Caravan has constant ticking sound and is now appearing to have slight trans fluid leak. Mechanic checked- not lifters/valve related. What is it??

Fual injectors do click when getting old. They still work as long as they don't clog or leak. The trans leak sometimes mean it need a service. (pan filter and fluid)
