Clicking when trying to start a vehicle will generally tell you that the battery is not ok, or that the battery has been drained somehow and can not provide the starter enough power to turn over the car. Cold weather can affect even a new battery, and a new battery can be bad. You will need to test the battery regardless to get to the solution. Once that has been verified as having enough voltage, then you will look at the starter as to whether it is engaging .

I agree with dustinpeters. And the tester you used is, I believe, only a voltmeter, and will not test the cranking power capability of a battery. It takes microamps to drive a meter, and 20-30 or more amps to crank a car engine.

1989 nissan pickup 4 cylinder when i turn the key to crank the engine i hear a click sound at the starter what could the click sound be?

could be battery . It needs a huge amount of charge to turn over the starter motor. It may work the headlights but be unable to turn the starter motor.
Suggest get battery tested at a battery seller to see if battery is really ok .
The click is most likely the solenoid on the starter motor clicking on.
You might be able to get someone to run jumper leads
Note +ve to + ve and negative to negative !
from their car while the engine is running and their car is not moving !
Wait 10 minutes
Then try to crank over your car engine .

I jump started a 4wd vehicle a month ago from my car and it took about 10 minutes to get enough charge in it to crank over the engine !

Merc e320 1997 model,W210 engine wont start. Please help

If you hear a click while turning the key this would indicate low charge in battery any reading under 12 on a tester would have trouble starting other than that loose battery leads have you tried jumping if it starts with a jump this would indicate battery.

My car was running and just shut down and has not turned back on, what is wrong with it?

Lights ok? if not check Battery first, or connections to the battery. Fuel? Any warning lights before this happened? Any "clicks" when you turn the key to start? No clicks, no Battery. You may have a bad charging system as well. Are the fan belts all ok or do you have some missing (bare pully with no belt) Can you "jump" to get it started? but then dies? Charging system problem if the belts are ok.

1990 thunderbird sc when you turn the key the car just clicks

It just clicks, this indicates problem with battery or problem with starter. If starter is faulty then battery will just give power to starter and click. The engine will not start due to faulty starter. Most likely starter is faulty, but if both battery and starter checked out ok then there are other possibilities too.Click the link below:-- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

1994 Lexus no turn no start

Ok, I am sure all terminals are ok as you have just changed the parts but is the battery charged? I have had many new batteries that are below and require a quick charge.

If ok and the correct amps check the starter relay, it could well be the clicking noise.. if the clicking is coming from the starter and the battery is ok then a common error on Toyota starters is to be supplied with the wrong one. I.e some have 9 teeth & some have 10 etc but use the same outer body. If fitted the starter jams and the solenoid just clicks.

Hope this helps
