Batteries when they get old or is going bad will drain. Autozone and shops have a load tester and a cca meter. Have it tested again and Walmart have a tester. Next the alternator need to be tested also. last check and make sure all lights are off at night ie trunk lite hood and so on. I hope this helped you.

My 2000 buick la Sabre battery won't charge. thought the battery was bad but it's good, might be the alternator but it also is good what might it be,?

Bad battery cables or loose cables could do thatI could not even boost my car so I towed it to a garage. They put new set of cables on and works good now.

How do I resolve the electrical problem with my Mercedes Benz car. It happens when I start the car.

if you feel it is the battery, go to a battery shop and have a load test done on the battery ( most will test for free)
that will prove one way or the other
check that the battery posts and terminals are shiny clean and tight and hat the ground wire is connected tight to a clean area If the battery proves to be good and the terminals are right , take the car to an accredited auto electrician for a test of the charging system

My car just stopped ....lost power. Battery is only 1 year old or less. thought it was a cable connecting the battery because we replaced it and it started right up. Drove it all day

yes, a bad alternator. If your alternator was working, the car wouldn't need the jumpers to keep running. Take the alternator off and have it tested at your local parts chain. Let me know if you need instructions or have other questions.

Starts with boost then car dies after 1 km and won't start

once the car is started it runs off the alternator .. so even if your battery is bad the alternator will still run the car .. so it looks lilke your alternator is bad .. when you jumped the car you charged the battery a little but not enough to keep it going since the alternator is not charging . if you hook up a charger overnight then you might be able to run it long enough to get somewhere (garage) .. try to drive when you dont need lights .. those will run down the battery in a short time .. if you have a volt meter then the battery should read about 13.8 to 14.2 volts when the alternator is working properly (car running) .. if it reads lower (like 12volts or less) then the alternator is not charging .. some auto parts stores will test your system free ..

Problems with 2002 VW Jetta VR6 after being garaged for a year

Hello, is there a battery signal light on in you dash? If there is it might be your alternator. Yes the battery could be a root to your problem. If it freezes where you live your battery could have frozen since it has been sitting almost a year. One way to tell is to look at the battery itself to see if it looks swollen. If the battery did freeze it will swell and cause the sides to buldge. If you have another vehicle there try putting that battery into your volkswagen to see if that solves your problem. If not then chances are your alternator is shot. You should be able to take the alternator to Advance Auto Parts, Pepboys, Autozone, ect and have them test it.

2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse won't start in the winter...(15,000km)

Try using a fuel treatment. Sometimes water builds up in the lines and makes it hard for the car to start cuz you can't combust something thats frozen... I'd recommend Lucas Fuel Treatment... either that, or maybe new spark plugs, though if the dealer thought they were fine, I don't think that's the case.

The battery may need to be replaced, the battery is not holding a charge or you didn't run car long enough. Try boosting again and let the car run for about 1/2 an hour to 1 hr. Then try to start the next day. If it doesn't start you will need a new battery. Even when you don't drive this vehicle especially in the winter time you should start this car and let it run for about 10 minutes once every week. Good Luck contact me if you need more help
