With the car running take a can of starting fluid and spray around the intake. those cars are known for bad intake gasket leaks. if the engine idles up on its own when you spray it. you have a bad intake. make sure to check and spray vac lines as well.

Have the spark plugs and wires been changed? If yes then are the spark plug wires routed and loomed up correctly? If not check for exhaust damaged wires.

Engine misses only when driving up incline or under a load new wires were put on 1 year ago with no problems at that time car starts right up and idles smooth

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

I believe that there's no problem with the engine. Looks like that you have a faulty transmission. As a first course of action please replace the transmission fluid. If the fluid is burnt the transmission tends to shift sluggish which can cause a misfire to the engine due to over rev.

Hope this information was helpful enough and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
