Question about 1993 Chevrolet Suburban

1 Answer

I have a 2005 gmc sierra 2500hd 4x4 which is pumping out radiator fluid out of the resorvoir. the truck threw an engine overheat code cause there was probablt too little fluid due to a leak. the truck was stopped immediately and the leak was fixed and the coolant added and bled. the truck drove 100+ miles at 70-90 MPH with no problems. it now blowss the coolant out after only running in idle for a few minutes or running a couple miles. the dealer is going to charge me $600+ just to begin to diagnose. There is no diluting in the oil. Also when it threw the overheat code the engine wasn't really all that hot when i opened the hood and let it sit. do you think it is the cap or thermostat? and why is the dealer scaring me in to thinking it is a head gasket or cracked block? any help appreciated!!!!!!!!!

Well all signs point to the initial stage of head gasket leak.

The piston(s) push the air/gas mixture into the coolant passage in the engine head.

You are lucky to able to catch it before oil coolant cross mix and blowing white after warm.

hydrocarbon HC test is a must!

I will not drive the truck until you check for freeze plugs leaks, change thermostat and radiator cap.

There is a very effective head gasket sealer call SteelSeal.

You will need two bottles.

After everything is under control then you must do a coolant system pressure test.

Location of blower resistor for 2005 GMC sierra 2500HD

Hi, the blower module that is located at the bottom of the heater box, next to the blower motor, above the panel below the glove box, has a tendancy to go bad, possibly overheat, and melt the larger of the two connectors. This can lead to one or all sppeds inop. the module will need to be replaced, and th connector inspected. If the connector is melted, or discolored, it needs to be replaced. A pigtail with wires, and connectors, as well as the resistor, should be available at a local GMC or Chevy dealer. Good luck...Coop

Cannot pump gas into tank. the safety mechanism on gas pump keeps shutting off. I do have a check engine light for a small emissions leak.

you need to replace the vent purge solenoid. this is what vents the air out of the fuel tank when you fill up and what is causing your code. it is available at your dealer, and is a fairly common issue. good luck!

I press my clutch and get no resistance and cant get into any gear? 2003 gmc sierra 8.1 4x4 2500hd 5 speed

Check fluid level in clutch master cylinder, if fluid is full then bleed clutch system.

If you still have no pedal resistance you will need a new master or slave cylinder for the clutch.

4X4 inop on 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD

I have found that when you are going to engauge 4x4 high, it is best to only be going about 3 miles an hour. Not faster, not stopped. It likes some movement to help it mesh. I've had perfect shifts since I started this. Hope it helps. Wade.
