TC is "traction control", and "reduced power" means you've got a pretty serious issue, one that the ECM deemed bad enough to cut engine power and traction control for. First thing's first, get the diagnostic trouble code out of the ECM. Some auto parts stares have "code scanners", but in my opinion this is something that I think will require an actual diagnostic scanner. Without the trouble code, all anyone can do it guess. Code first, fix comes after the code.

I had the same problem for several months until I got to the point the every morning will do it three or times a day.....the mecanic scan it.......My research told me that was the speed sensor but once I had the code was totally different. It was the throttle actuator control sensor. I have to buy it all it cost it around $235 got pretty good price. I havent had a problem since then. I hope this would help you....the code that was read on my was p 1516

Yeah I have the same problem. The Check Engine, Reduced Engine Power Light and TC Control Light are all on at the same time. It will go off by itself after a few days and then comes back on. I've tried disconnecting the battery and that has worked in the past but this time it is not working. Anybody have any suggestions?

Hi Andrew, TC I believe is 'traction control'. I don't know for sure why the management system would read 'engine power reduced' and would suggest a visit to your dealer, to have a diagnostic scan carried out. It could very well be that moisture has contaminated the electronics.Regards Johngee10
