Hard to say. It depends on where the leak is located. i suggest taking it to a shop and have them find the leak or the general area and ask for a quote before they fix it.

Engine code po442

Code P0442 refers to the E-VAP system. A small vacuum leak is detected and it could be the result of a loose, missing, or defect gas cap. There could be another problem in the system too. This is a good start. Let me know if if there is anything else, good luck.

Usually a vacuum leak in that system. Check all the hoses for weather cracking.

Car leaks antifreeze what size hoses do i get

How bad it is leaking? You certainly don't want to run a car with low transmission fluid as it will surely do internal damage. Most common leak areas are at the pan gasket or the transmission cooler lines that go to the radiator. Next most common areas are at the output shaft seals and around sensors or plugs on the transmission. If you replace any cooler lines with hose, make sure you use transmission hose. This will handle the pressure and the chemical resistance that other hoses will not stand up to. Also be sure to KNOW what transmission fluid is needed. One size does not fit all!

I have a 2000 chevy cavelier E-vap censor

Sometimes a leaking fuelcap or a leak in the hose system of the evaporator cannister system. For these leaks you need a special "smoke machine" test. A pinhole can do you in. Just start calling for a place to do a smoke test.

On a 2000 ford zx3 has a large e-vap leak that i can't find

Check the gas cap, all lines with rubber hose sections going to or from the fuel tank, and the evap canister. Also, check all vacuum lines under the hood. Start at the intake manifold and work your way out. Your car is 11 years old, and I can guarantee you have a vacuum leak, keep looking, you'll find it.

Hi, i have a mitsubishi montero 01, the air condition stops working due to leakage and my mechanic decides to remove the leaking pipe that goes to a unit(i dont know the name now) above the right rear tyre...

Make sure you have water in your radiator! The leaking is probably coming from there or a hose linking the radiator to the engine block. If there's no water, fill it up again (make sure your engine hasn't been running for awhile before opening it up). If there is water though, check for any hoses running the radiator to the engine if you can see them and make sure they are tight, look for wet spots on the hoses to see what might be leaking.

If this solves it, take it to another mechanic!

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus and my transmission keeps shooting the fluid out of the dipstick area or somewhere because I smell a burning smell but hardly no transmission fluid on the ground. It has went...

there are two transmission cooling lines that go to the radiator. If you have a six cylinder it is possible that one of the lines has a hole that is spraying on to the exhaust. this would account for no leaks on the ground. When you start the car it will start to spray right away. These are metal and rubber hose lines, so if and when you find a leak it can be cut out and replaced with hose and clamps or you can get the original hose and replace all of it. Not hard to o . Let me know. Randy

Check engine lite on .autozone says e-vac leak. what should i look for?

Are you sure it's e-vac leak or is it e-vap leak ,because the e-vap leak could be as simple as you have not tightened the gas cap enough, and that willturn on the check engine light.
