Have your starter tested. It could be drawing to much amperage.Auto Zone will do this for free.Good luck.

How do I know when I need a new battery

There is a chance your check engine light will come on if your battery is low. Or you might have other problems with electrical displays.

If that is not the case with your car a sign may be a slow start with sluggish cranking when you turn the key.
A car battery will likely only last 4-5 years so if the battery is older than that it should be replaced.

Why ent there enough power going to my brand new starter motor seems to spin slow when i connect strait from battery

hook a volt meter up to your battery you should see around 12.5 volts. Then crank the engine and see what the voltage drops to. If it drops to less than 12 volts the battery is bad.

Turns over too slow to start has new battery I tried to jump it and cleaned terminals

which of 3 engines is it????????
i tried to jump it
jumper cables to a running car?
slow turn over is usually , 3 things.
1: bad battery or its only discharged.
2: spark timing way off, causes engine to try to start backwards.
3: engine seizures. (internal issues) (turn it by hand, ok its good)
4: weak starter. (its bad)

New tdi starter weak turns slow

Sometimes battery cables can short the circuit; try getting them away from any metal or each other.

Engine turns over slowly

Try measuring battery voltage at the starter motor. Should not drop below 12V when cranking.

If does pull plugs and see if you can hand crank. If more is really tight try some very light oil in cylinders for a couple days and see if anything loosens up.

Replaced alternator and battery acted like not enough juice to turn over but battery fully charged changed battery terminals now no start fire

sounds like you have left a cable off the battery terminal ,some vehicles have more than one cable on the battery terminal ,also when started take the neg battery lead off and if engine stops then its a new alternator ,if engine keeps running then the fault is the battery for a slow turn over .

Wont start

Is starter engaging but is turning the engine slowly then not turning engine? (that's what I'm reading) If so, check both connections at the block and starter. If reading proper voltage 12v or better, check voltage across battery when in "start" if it drops below 9.5v the starter has failed. (you can turn the engine by hand...correct?)
