Unfortunatley you are correct, they are just a ball of ####, we`v got one that constantly has problems,
latest issue, glow plug light engine symbol and SERVICE light,
glow plugs attempted to be changed by the garage couple of months ago but could only do 2 as the other 2 were siezed solid!

Renault= 2 years trouble free then scrap it!

You just got a bad egg mate most of those egines are fine sure nissan and opel use the same engine in there vans. you probly need a set of glow plugs they are very easy to fit and not to pricey.

Renault traffic van that has no power until turbo starts to boost. Some times when i labour the engine at low revs the glow plug light will come on too? Any idea's?? Thanks

i've got trafic 100dci 2001 year-had poor exceleration upto 2000 revs then turbo cut in,also at speed-mainly uphill the power would start to pulse(like small jerks forward)until it ran out of steam-80ish,changed egr valve-didn't fix it! then tested air flow meter and found figures incorrect,so replaced, also tested the tubo rod(down the back of the engine -visible with air filter housing removed)this was very stiff,so used wd40 to clean then spray oil to lube and worked the rod backward and forward until it moved freely.put all back together and that was it-back to normal-hooray!! have to point out that the van will not rev past 3700 revs when it is loaded-it has a load sensor, unloaded or partly loaded it will rev to I think about 4100 revs(don't quote me on that though) do hope this will help whoever and God bless

Renault trafic 1.9 dci new turbo but lights on dash still on stop

This is a problem with the onboard management computer. It probably wasn't reset by the mechanic when the new turbo was fitted. You'll need to take it to someone with the correct diagnostic equipment to get this fault erased. Avoid Renault dealerships. They'll charge anything from £80 to £400 to clear an error. Best find someone independent.

Renault traffic 03 1.9dci low power until turbo cuts in and wont rev past 3800rpm in any gear also occasionaly cuts out with engine management/glow light on no faults on diagnostics

my trafic did the same.no power pulling away until the turbo kicked in and it turned out to be the airflow meter.Hope this helps as it cured mine.Plus non of them rev past 3800 revs its normal.
