I had change my motor for my windshield wipers but they still ain't working. How can I fix this problem on my 1983 Chevy Caprice classic

check you have power at the wiper motor when the wiper switch is on. You will need a multimeter or a bulb that you know works and two wires. If no power, check the fuses..

Is there a fuse for the windshield wiper motor on an 86 chevy caprice if so where is it located?

I would check for the fuse under the dash. The fuse panel should be marked with something like WW Mtr. or some abbreviation like that.

If you don't have a guide, use a fuse tester available in a fuse kit from Walmart or your local parts store to diagnose all of the fuses within 5 minutes.

The fuse tester lights when a circuit has a bad energized fuse.

If it is not a fuse, the windshield wiper motor is possibly burnt out.

Check for continuity at the motor, or replace it and see if it works after that.

Also, check the switch for the windshield wiper motor for current or continuity when removed.

Good luck on this repair.

The windshield wipers on my Chevy Blazer 97 stopped working, just makes a sound, but not moving? What do I need to check/replace?

Sounds like the windshield wiper motor needs to be replaced. The gear inside may be stripped so you'll hear it running but it won't do anything. I've had that happen with the rear wiper motor. Hope that helps.

What is the 94 Chevy Caprice Classic wiper arm

heres a wiper linkage asm diagram, the wiper washers are on the hood or on the cover to deck, then the hose runs through the wiper arm to a nozzle, if you remove the arms you can lift cover enough to look at the hose to washer connection, also check hose to arm they often break there good luck.2d8c418.gif

1983 chevy pick up wipers won't turn off

The wipers have a control module in the wiper motor. That is what is wrong. On that model you will have to replace the wiper motor . Good Luck

I turned on my windshield wipers when they were frozen, now they wont shut off? what do i do? i pulled the fuse for now.

Hello mayback_57 ;

Unfortunately this is a common occurance on many Caprices . Removing the fuse from inside of the car or unplugging the wiper/washer motor connector in the engine compartment will stop the wiper motor , but it is not a permanent solution / fix .

I can suggest 2 things that may help . #1 I would check and replace the wiper switch ( it could have a worn contact point that does not allow it to interupted to go into delay or to stop altogether . ) # 2 I would check and replace the circuit board that controls the washer- wiper pump and all delay functions .

There could also be some wiring or grounding issue but I believe the above 2 suggestions will correct this problem most of the time .

I hope that this info has been of help to you .
