Question about 2000 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Back to problems with my 2000 Buick La Sabre. I noticed this last year and now it's happening again. Sometimes when the heat is on there is an odor that smells like melted candle wax, the smell can be so bad that you have to open the windows. I smell this inside and outside of the car. Any ideas on what this can be

I don't really know what could be causing a wax smell specifically, but if crayons made their way into the duct-work then that could be your problem. Other wise you may want to inspect the heater-core, could be clogged (for debris or mold) and cabin air-filter (IF APPLICABLE).

Why does the ignition control module keep going out on my 92 Buick La Sabre, this is the 3rd time in 8 months

Can't say for sure, but there is a need to use dielectric grease on bottom of module when you replace it to insure heat transfer. Also, there are brands that are better than others.

1998 buick la sabre window motor is intermittent how do i remove door panel

My 2000 does this and it's the wiring harness where it goes between the door and the cowl. There's a loose connection in there somewhere. If I move the wires around with the door open (where they go through the body) it works again.

Lots of cold air from 2000 buick la sabre

Be sure to keep an eye on your coolant level. If there's a leak, then it'll just get low again and return with no heat. There'll also be a chance on overheating your car if it's low on coolant.

Make sure if you're adding water, that it's DISTILLED water. It's free from impurities and will be much better for your system.

It's actually recommended to use 50/50 diution of antifreeze and distilled water. You can buy this already pre-diluted, which is easiest. Or you can buy the full mixture of antifreeze yourself and mix it 50/50 with the water.
