Standard tranny's are pretty simple. Sounds like some of the linkage came unconnected. Take it back to whoever replaced the clutch and have them repair the problem. They apparently didn't put it back together right. You have to disconnect the linkage to pull the transmission to replace the clutch.

I.m not familiar with Saab but I'm thinking that your transmission might have a bent fork inside that changes the gears. possible the one for 4th and reverse. I've heard of that problem on other carswith manual trans.

What will it cost to replace the transmission for a 1995 Saab 900SE - no reverse gear.

It would be much cheaper to get the reverse gear replaced than to buy a new transmission. Even if you get a used one, you need to get some kind of warranty with it in case that one does not work out.

Bad syncro for third gear. Sorry, but you aren't fixing this one yourself, unless you replace the transmission yourself.

Saab 9-5 1999 won't go into reverse

ASE Mechanic:
Try checking the fluid level first, and then look for any leaks. if corrected right away you might not have to rebuild the trans. but other wise look into the cost of a rebuilt transmission.

No reverse for 1995 Saab 900s

This is almost certainly the case. The gears selector on the gearbox is worked by rods connected to the gear lever and minor mispositioning (often when you have had a clutch change) will cause this issue. Reverse always seems to be affected most by this issue. You might be aboe to fix it yourself, but without a little knowledge you could of course make it worse. I wouldn't spend out on a SAAB dealership to fix this though, a confident and competent local mechanic will probably sort it out for you at a much reduced cost.

Saab 900SE 2.0T sensonic clutch / gear problem

It's possible that your clutch needs bled and/or have the fluid level checked in the clutch reservoir. The only other thing I can think of that would cause the problem that you're explaining would be that perhaps your throw-out bearing is starting to slip or maybe your pedal isn't auto-adjusting properly. Not too much more that could be causing the problem you described. Hope this helps and have a great day!
