It's located in the middle of the firewall and has 5or6 7mm screws you'll need to remove. There's a 10mm nut holding on the squirrel fan,Hold on to the fan to remove. There's a stop washer under the fan, you'll need it for the new blower motor. There's a flat spot on the shaft to keep the fan from spinning, make sure you not only line it up and put the fan on the right way.If you put it on backwards it will stick out farther and won't go back in all the way. When installed it will be very close to the blower housing ,if there's a gap take it off and flip it over.If the fan hits the housing the stop washer must of fallen of the shaft or you forgot to put it on.Put the nut to hold the fan on,don't strip it out,it only needs to be tight.Plug the wires back in and test before you install, don't get bit by the fan!Install in the firewall and only tighten the screws, they strip out easily! That should do it!

I believe on the 97 olds, the blower resistor is beside fan blower beneath the glove box. the best way to access this is to remove panel under glove box. then remove the glove box itself, now you have room to work on resistor. and not standing on your head and trying to fix it. good-day !

The blower motor resistor gets really hot so it is located where the blower motor fan can keep it cool. Look under the hood close to the blower motor.
