With engine running you should get 13-15 volts at the battery. If it shows 12 V or lower you alternator is shot or a faulty regulator.

2006 Gmc Envoy SLE won't crank no power window, no power lock, all gauges on cero

(I replaced the battery this morning, it doesn't change anything and it for some reason is draining the battery) Something draining the battery - you have a parasitic draw on the battery, like something is on but isn't. More than likely the instrument cluster is the problem. Silver solder migration on the circuit board inside the instrument cluster can cause a parasitic drain on the electrical system. Also, can short out the serial data network causing no start conditions.

Battery drains until dead recharged it tahoe starts and runs gauges are dead alt light is on door locks, windows, keyless entry don't work 2003 tahoe 5.3 please help

Try disconnecting your alternator. Charge the battery but leave the alternator disconnected (remove the electrical plug from the rear of the alternator).

If the battery retains its charge and can start the car (you won't cause any damage by starting the engine with the alternator disconnected) it points towards a defective alternator.

If the rectifier pack - the diodes - in the alternator burn out this can cause a battery to discharge very quickly. Sometimes, quite literally, in a couple of minutes.

If the battery still discharges with the alternator disconnected this points towards a failing battery or a drain somewhere else in the electrical system.

It may be that your door locks and windows don't work for the simple reason there's not enough power to operate them. However, as you say your gauges are dead .. this could possibly point towards a drain in the electrical system, but not necessarily so.

It becomes too easy to replace parts one after the other in the hope that a fault is cured. This is an expensive way of going about things. The best option is to pay a workshop or an auto electrician to diagnose the fault correctly. Diagnose the fault first - an auto electrician will be able to tell you within minutes if it's the battery, the alternator or a drain elsewhere.

2003 sierra gauges not working plus dash plus drains my battery any suggestions ?

Try this simple trick. Shut off every thing in your vehicle, radio, ac, lights, windshield wipers etc.Turn off the vehicle put it in park. Disconnect your battery , wait 5 minutes. Then Without turning any thing on leaving the vehicle in park reconnect the battery start the vehicle and let it Idle for approx 10 minutes. This allows your computer to reset all of your gauges. By assuring that everything is off your computer can concentrate on resetting everything correctly without missing a step . This will set your Idle and all of your Gauges. Whenever your battery is disconnected for what ever reason this step should be followed immediately upon reconnect.
