Car slowing down whilst going up any slight hill

hi from uk could you please verify if this vehicle is automatic trans? or manual ? reaso for asking is from your symptoms described suggests it is manual therefor if you say when going uphill the speed slowsdown ? does the engine revs stay or seem to increase that is to say the revs of engine do not relate to the road speed that vehicle should be at ?? hope you understand ? one more question ! if manual trans ? when gear selected how far does clutch have to be let up b4 drive takes up? ie almost fully up ? now considering age of vehicle and probable high milage ?? if your vehicle is manual ??? then the fault you have is more than likely the clutch is slipping/coming to needing replacement ? however do not panic ? if you could come back with info/answers to what i have asked it would help to give better diagnose/advice and options ? best wishes silvertop n/west uk

Why wont my car pick up speed and slow down going up hill.

More than likely it is caused from not getting enough of fuel, Check fuel filter to see if its ok. God-Bless!

Hi my 02 avensis verso totally loses power when hot going up a hill or incline..really embarrising...cleaned ecg valve any other ideas

Hi,
The air filter can sometimes be a good place to start, as a slightly blocked/dirty/damaged one can give the car near normal operation on flat roads but when going uphill make it slow right down.

would suggest you try that first. If that doesn't work it could be a faulty/blocked fuel filter or dodgy turbo or slipping clutch or air/fuel mix issue (faulty sensor).

My car runs slow when going up hills

have a compression test carried out you may be having early signs of cylinder wear also check when last time fuel filter was changed as lack of fuel could also cause this under load

I have 200 Toyota Avalon, Recently I change a transition fluid , it is a little bit over on the stick , Know when i go up on the hill it slow down , what could be the reason

The question is, Does the engine maintain it's rpm's or does the engine actually slow down. If the motor keeps the same rpm while going up the hill but the car slows down then that indicates that the trans is slipping. If the engine slows down at an abnormal rate that could be a compression problem due to high milage

Car looses power up a hill

How slight was the hill and how much weight did you have in your car? When you got power back was it because you were no longer on the hill or were you going downhill?
You may just need to drop down a gear to get the power back, if you have a heavy car even slight hills can cause it to lose power especially if your in top gear. You have a "sports transmission" option (I'm pretty sure it's on all the DSG transmissions) you just need to move it across to the +/- bit and move the stick to the - to go down a gear. Otherwise you'd have to wait until your auto decides it's lost enough revs to go down a gear. Which is why I hate autos.
Otherwise it could be bad fuel or something wrong with the turbo.
