The blinkers are not working. It is not the light bulbs-I think it is the flasher. How do I change the flasher.

Hello FixYa Team,

Thank you for your help. My problem is not solved yet and this is why.

I called Pep Boys yesterday after I left you a message. The guy there told me he had a flasher in stock for my Saturn with a price of 5 bucks. So last night I went to the store after work. The same guy than told me-"he was mistaken, the computer show now that he does not have one, and the flasher is a chip for the computer, he said to call the dealer".

That is what I am going to do after I finish this email.

Thanks again
Chris

After changing the signal bulbs on my 2008 sierra 1500 to leds the blinker started blinking in superdrive. Is this normal.

The flasher rate is governed by how much current the circuit draws and this is why when a bulb stops working the flash rate increases.

Led bulbs consume much less current than standard bulbs so the flasher circuit thinks both bulbs are out leaving only the repeater.

Were is the fuse for the right blinker in a 2003 gmc envoy

Hey Derrick,
I do not think the blinkers have a "right" and "left" fuse...Its usually a flasher/blinker relay.
Try replacing the bulbs.. make sure their sockets are clean and able to hold the bulbs tight. If you are not getting both right side blinkers to work and you know both bulbs are good, the switch in the column may be the culprit.

1989 chevy 1/2 ton.brake lights or emergency flashers dont work.tail lights an blinkers work.

The Blinkers and the Brake Lights are the same bulb. So check the brake light switch. Flashers use a different flasher unit, than the turn signals

Replace your "flasher relay, also know as a "blinker relay".Your local auto part store should carry them.

''VW BEETLE FLASHERS WORK BUT BLINKERS DO NOT'' Replaced flasher module because was told it had dual function but blinkers still do not work. Is there another component somewhere or is blinker selector arm...

Check all fuses. Use a test light to check if there is current to the rear bulbs when flashers engaged. If there is, then replace the burnt bulbs. Check for ground at the rear lights.
Do the front marker lights work when engaged??

Hazards and blinkers not working

There are separate fuses for the turn signals and blinkers, but you should check both of them just to see if they're good.

You may have a burnt out turn signal bulb as well. I know that this sounds like an obvious answer, but a single bulb can sometimes disable the entire system because of the way that some flashers operate.

You could also have a defective turn signal/hazard light flasher. This is located under the dash board on the driver's side between the steering column and the door. You have to remove the sound insulation/kick panel (the cover on the bottom of the dash board) to reach the flasher (it is easy to remove - I don't think you even need tools).
