I had HID lights installed, and after installation my radio plays static, replaced fuse in fuse box but there is still tons of static, any suggestions?


you can buy a radio filter very easy to put in it connects to attena plug and filters out stray electrical interference and there cheep

The fuse might be built into the cable to the lighterand/or radio. It's called "fusable link", this type of fuse looks like a cable. Or another type of fusable link might be in the fuse box under the hood near the firewall.

take out the speaker in question and test it.
a 9v battery is good enough to 'burp' it.
if it makes a scratchy noise when you put power to it then you have a short in the voice coil.
Burping a speaker is just a short power up. Don't hold power to it.
Tap it on and off like a music note measure.

Short circut in the courtesy fuse


remove coins from the cigarette lighter or unplug it. Never put a bigger fuse in than what it calls for tha is a BIG mistake.

Radio quit working


does your system have power amplifier aside from your built in amp on radio? if yes, disconnect all supply then put new fuse. try this time, should not blow the fuse. then one by one, connect the supply fo your radio only, if ok, then next is the amplifier, if it blow the fuse, your power amplifier has an issue.
