Known in the trade as 'Toying'

Toying is normally caused by air leaks on the inlet side of the engine. Easy to diagnose, spray easy-start over the inlet side of the engine, when and if you get to the leak area the leak will **** some easy start into the engine and the revs will race up for a moment.

If it isn't sucking in air then it will be a sensor failure ie front Lambda sensor

Hope you get it sorted

Have it checked for a trouble code at a parts store . they do it for free in most places like autozone. it is most likely the throttle or idle position sensor.

I have the exact same problem with my 05 CRD, thought it was the motor or tranny mounts but both are in excellent condition. The problem started just after turning 100,000 mi. I don't have the answer, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone on this issue, hopefully someone will post a solution soon!

How much should i pay for replacement clutch for 1998 c2s.last yr of the aircooled.on acceleration there is slipping .got 50000 miles on the odometer

the parts alone may run from $800-$1200 depending on quality. labor is going to be roughly 8-9 hrs.times the shop labor rate.(so i.e. 9 x $100hr=$900). get someone who knows porsche or it could cost you alot more in the long run. happy holidays

When my airconditioning is on and I step on the gas it soon goes off I think its a problem with the vacuum pump but idont know where the pump is located can you help? The car is a94 960 volvo sedan. Thanks...

There are no vacuum pumps but what we called the vacuum bellows. There are 5 units located under the dashboard and all are fitted to the A/C box. Need to check all these bellows and all the hoses connected to them from the connectors at the firewall. However, before endulging into this area, check the valves in the engine bay at the firewall. There are 2 units connected between the vacuum hoses. The black side should be fitted toward the engine and the white toward the conneter at the firewall.

Radio code

You should be able to contact the dealer and provide proof of ownership, and they may be able to give you the code. You may have to remove the radio and give them a service number located on a sticker. or they may have to reprogram it with a code of your choice.
