Question about 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer

2 Answers

Starts fine, but then bogs out when accelerating, practicaly have to give it no gas and creep up to speed.Doesn't want to go up hills. Just replaced the cpi, fuel filter and fuel pump 3 months ago. Also changed the distributer cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires then too. Just replaced the plugs again yesterday, they already looked bad. Can you help with a direction to look? I'm @ a loss.

It ended up being the cpi again. I had bought one rebuilt and was finally able to have a gauge on it while it was acting up. Saw the fuel pressure was fluctuating @ the time, and since the fuel pressure regulator is part of the central port injector, I took it back said it was defective, put on the new one & haven't had a problem since. They even said @ the auto part store that they had been having more returns with the rebuilt lately, and gave me the new one @ no extra charge, since they were out of stock on the rebuilt. Hope this helps.

Check the fuel pressure regulator and the EGR valve, I would check the fuel pressure regulator first and go from there. Good luck and keep me posted. Not sure what the pressure should be but thinking it's 62 to 65 PSI upon start up and should drop 5 PSI when engine running, check the vacuum line to the regulator.

Check 02 sensor, throttle position sensor, leaky vacuum hoses. Looks like you took care of cap&rotor and fuel filter. How's plug wires? Getting good spark? Good fuel pressure? Any injector or gasket leaks?

Do check the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator and your injectors. Test the fuel pressure to make sure it is constant.

Why does my car bog down and wont accelerate up a hill?

Usually a sign of a fuel problem, either too much or too little.
Too much could be several problems including a clogged air filter, too little could be a weak fuel pump or other issue.
A mechanic would check fuel pressure and air flow first.

WHAT CAUSE A MERCURY VILLAGER TO BOG GOING UP A HILL

when the tank gets low on fuel(under 1/4) or less.. the pump, which uses the gas to keep cool, will get hot and start to cavitate(run at slower speeds and cause a severe fuel pressure surge)..the engine will respond accordingly..most will do this as the system gets older..to avoid it and possible premature pump failure, keep the tank at least 1/4 fll..

My 88 toyota camry wont accelerate when i step on the gas pedal

tests:

cruise at say 45mph ok?
if i accelerate , it bogs then catches up?
if i accelerate, it bogs and never catches up?
if i go WOT, wide open throttle it has full power up a hill after the bog?

these test , are the KEY tests.
this tells me what is wrong.
i hope the car is tuned up, if not , why no? the 60k mile done?

64' cj5. miss firing, tuned distributer, not missfiring anymore. if i give it gas it idles fine for a sec then starts to bog. i'm stuck between carb and plugs ????

Pull the plugs and look at them if they are black take a look at the carb. generally though bad plugs will give you a high speed misfire unless they are totally shot. A bog from thje carb is generally due to a bad accelerator pump (inside) or a bad power valve (also inside). Accelerator pump should give a visible squirt when you look into the carb and move the throttle linkage (do with engine off).

92 s-10 after engine warms wont accelerate

could be trash in fuel filter or around pickup screen in tank. While driving everything sticks to them like magnet when you shut off and it sits it all falls off to happen again when you start the vehicle again
