Hit on front drivers tire, now wheel sits back farther in wheel well. not much room. what is wrong?

Most likely your car has suffered frame damage, not to mention pitman arms, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, struts, etc. Get the car to a shop now!

Wheel wobble on driver front wheel


failed wheel bearings would be a good reason
loose wheel nuts or elongated stud holes from wrong nuts would also be in with a bet
bent rim from hitting a kerb is also a possibility

I had a constant grinding coming from front passenger tire. Replaced Caliper and put the worn pads back on for a day, the constant grinding went away. It would still grind while braking,hitting a bump


It sounds like the brake pads are metal to metal, when you turn the flexing of the wheel makes them touch the rotor and grind. This can rarely be caused by a badly worn wheel bearing as well, have both brakes and wheel bearing inspected.

The driver side tire is sitting visibly farther back from the passenger side, it has a very hard left hand pull when brakes applied, but wheels turn freely in neutral when raised off ground. recently...


Check the control arm, and the control arm bushings on the left side. Sounds like something is broken, loose, or totally worn out. Use a sturdy pry bar to try to force it in different directions front and back, any play will become apparent.

Slid on ice and hit a curb..now my front driver side wheel is rubbing the back of the tire well.what is most likely wrong.


You bent part of the suspension. Most likely the lower control arm and will need to get it replaced and aligned. Have the mechanic check the ball joints for good measure when replacing the items.

Cant get front tires off


turn lug nuts counter clockwise while the tires are still on the ground then raise the front end and take off loose lug nuts and wheels. reverse steps when done

Took wheels off and now 3 of them rub against the shock the front drivers side and both rear.


same wheels, if so then rim is not properly mounted remove one at a time, you may have to clean were rim mounts on to hub,the rim should slide on easy, you should not have to tighten lug nut to get the wheel to sit all the way back if thats the case then cleaning of center of rim and hub is needed, good luck.

BMW X-3 Front tires will not come off. All lug


buy some liquid wrench and try to spray it behind the rims the best you can and let sit for at least a half an hour. and maybe buy 2 new front rims. because the sledging might make the car shake.

After sitting in driveway, back wheels have completely locked up.


Chock the front tires, loosen up the lug nutes on the rear tires, jack the rear end up, uncap the adjuster dust caps on the back of the rear drums, either use a brake spoon or straight blade screwdriver and turn the star adjuster while spinning the wheel until you have no resistance. If this does not work remove the rear tires and hit the sides of the drums with a small sledge hammer or hammer to loosen & break up the rust, When you get movement on the drum, hit it betweeen the studs. Be patient, this may take some time.

Have to turn steering farther than normal to make turns


The need to turn the wheel further than usual indicates that there is excessive wear in the steering system. I'd have it checked right away by someone reliable. I won't make a guess what's wrong, but component failure in steering is a dangerous condition, not to be ignored or put off 'till later!!!
