You have rear disc brakes and the rotors act like drums, with e-brake shoes inside. you would need to remove the calipers and rotors to access the star wheel to tighten up the e-brake.

Where is the park brake adjustment on a 2013 Honda CRV?

You are probably better getting a good mechanic to do this as it's one of those time consuming fiddly jobs. Here's a suggested method you could try. Don't forget to chock the wheels to stop the vehicle rolling away! With the rear of the vehicle safely off the ground pull on the handbrake and try to turn each wheel by hand. Sometimes the problem can be one side only not gripping enough.
There are two locations to adjust the handbrake. The best place to start is at the wheel end. (See attached video). This lets you check the problem isn't worn out brake shoes. Two or more millimetres on the brake shoes is a good thickness. Drums can be a pain in the backside to get off.
I think the side of the vehicle shown in the video needs you to turn the adjuster upwards to tighten the brakes. Before you tighten the star wheel pull the hand brake to where it should 'bite' at about 3 to 4 clicks. **Note** You might need to turn the adjuster on the other side in the opposite direction. It's a slow, awkward job getting only one or two teeth turned at a time.
If it is only one 'click' on the lever there is another adjuster inside the car. It is under the center console underneath the large storage hole. You'll need to hook out the rubber liner and gently lever out the plastic cover right at the bottom. There should be a 'T' shaped connector. Again set the position of the handle to 3 to 4 clicks and slowly tighten the adjuster. ONLY tighten until you feel resistance!
The best way for this is to chock the wheels and raise the vehicle onto axle stands. Then you can adjust by small amounts and feel for the 'bite' by turning the road wheel by hand.
Over tightening will burn out the shoes and the brakes could fail completely.

What size ratchet (wrench) do I need to adjust hand brake?

Normally you never have to adjust lever, all adjustment normally is done at brake shoe assy.
To adjust the cable, there is a 10 or 12 mm bolt in between the two cables. Clockwise tightens, counter-clockwise loosens.

check for correct bearing preload adjustment
check that the hand brake was properly adjusted off before the pads were fitted as if not on the first application the pads will stay on the disc
the problem is in the workmanship and procedure for the repair

How to adjust the hand brake on a sorento 2006

For the most part, the parking brakes on your vehicle will not require adjustment, as most parking brake systems come equipped with a self-adjusting mechanism. However, after years of service, a manual adjustment may be necessary. Most systems include a control cable or rod, an equalizer bar, application cables or rods, adjusting mechanism, and a pedal or lever.

How do i tighten handbrake on honda crv 2007

yoiu dont touch the cable ,you remove the rear disks and adjust the shoes which are inside the the brake disk, check the type of system first though as it may have the handbrake on the caliper and if this type adjusting the cable will not work anyway as it will not pass the annual mechanical inspection on handbrake efficiency if the knife edge lever points are worn inside the caliper

built into the brake pads is a small bit of metal that when the pads get to low to be safe , runs on the rotor and produces the squeal applying the brakes stops the vibration so the noise drops off

2004 honda crv brake won't release

Your emergency brake is a mechanical brake system that is indipendant of the regular hydrolic system. If the red brake light on the dash is on make sure it's the emerg. brake and not a problem with the fluid level or the calapers sticking. the best way to check the emerg. brake is to rase both rear wheels off the ground and spin them. If they spin, the emerg. brake is not locked up. If they don't spin, take the rear tires off and the brake drums. (you may have rear disk brakes.) check the springs to insure they are all hooked up properly. If there is no problem there, follow the parking brake cable to check for damage. The cable is like a brake cable on a bike, If the inner cable is binding inside the cable sleeve, the brake wont release. If you have rear disc, it's probly a bad calaper. The park brake cable is attached to the calapers. Rember if it wont run it's annoying but if it won't stop, it's deadly. DON"T experiment with brakes!!! If in doubt, take it to a pro.

How do you adjust a 2003 honda crv hand brake i have replaced the back pads but the hand brake has too much travell and it appears the hand brake does not have a cable going to the back brakes so how does...

It should have e-brake cables going to the rear, and to adjust the handle there is an adjuster on the bottom of the handle under the console it will take a four way screw driver and a 12mm wrench to fix your problem hope this helps you!
