Yep they do move a little but yours is leaking out of somewhere. You need to pinpoint where and fix it.

1995 nissan quest radiator fan went out going up hill and smoking

Smoking from where? Under the hood, the pressure exceeded the rating of the radiator cap and the coolant was blown into the recovery tank. It may have fillled the tank and sprayed coolant on the engine making it smoke under the hood. You may have blown a radiator or heater hose, again if the smoke was coming from under the hood. If it was coming out of the tail pipe, you may possibly have blown a head gasket.

Check the transmission fluid level. Sounds like you either have a leak n or failed to properly top off the fluid level after the initial loss of fluid.

Coolant leak from radiator and white smoke coming from the hood.

Sounds like you have blown a head gasket. Do not run the engine like this or you will seize it up . anti freeze will freeze the pistons and you will need a new engine. Hope you have not ruined it now.
White smoke is a sign of water in the piston area.

My s 430 has smoke coming from under hood after driving but not all the time temp gauage reads normal. I had oil and trans leaks sealed but it is still happening, what else could it be? Thanks

SMOKE UNDER HOOD COULD BE COOLANT LEAK FROM RADIATOR ITSELF OR CHECK FOR LEAKING TOP RADIATOR HOSE AND CHECK FOR LEAKING BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE.LOOK UNDER THE HOOD IF COOLANT BOILING OUT COOLANT OVERFLOW JUG ENGINE OVERHEATING FROM BAD THERMOSTAT OR BAD WATER PUMP.CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAK AT WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE.IF SO WATER PUMP NEED REPLACING.ADD MORE COOLANT UNTIL LEVEL CORRECT.TRY LOCATE LEAK. IF CAR OVERHEATED AND BOILED IT OUT. SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD CAN ALSO BE CAUSED BY LEAKING VALVE COVERS WHICH CAN BE FIRE HAZARD IF OIL LEAKS ON HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD.

I am having problems with my heater in 2003 Malibu. Sometimes the air comes out cool even though I have heater control turned to hot. If I jiggle (twist the control back and forth many times) the air...

will try to assist you, lets start simple. with engine warm,, not hot,,remove radiator cap, check coolant level, if low, start engine with cap off, add coolant until full, you should see coolant in the radiator moving or bubbling, fill to top and replace the cap, careful not to burn yourself!! use a rag to put cap on if need be. if that works on heat, then it was only low on coolant, if not that, step#2 with motor off,, move engine fan by hand, checking for movement, will it turn?is it wobbly ,might have to pull it front of cat to back. meanibg back to front. any play? if good, no play, and no leaks diretly under the water pump, check black box under hood, main fuse box, under lid you should find fuse and relay positioning, check fuses and relays for GOOD all good? with engine running, make visual check for radiator fan to come on when engine reaches operating temperature. if all this is good, try 1 more thing just for good measure! replace radiator cap, sometimes, they look good, but are;nt. if this does not help, please repost your question and THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING FIXYA.COM!!

I have smoke, white, coming from under hood, what do i look for to fix it?

White usually means a coolant leak somewhere. If it was burning oil it would have a bluish tint and some sort of burning rubber is going to be black. You are going to want to look for leaks coming from your radiator first then moving to the main radiator hoses and any other rubber hoses you can see. Usually these can be pretty easy to find and fix as you just replace the hose. It also could be spraying from your radiator cap. I recommend carefully looking for the leak with the engine running as this will allow you to follow the smoke and hopefully find the source.

Temperature gauge back and forth between normal

the fan comes on and off based on the "temperature sending unit" thats a thermal switch mounted on the radiator .. it is normal for the temperature to fluxuate as the fan turns on and off .. if it is allowed to get too hot before turning on then the temperature sending unit should be replaced ...while the car is moving the fan may never come on and isnt needed as long as air is flowing through the radiator .. as long as you are not loosing coolant then the temperatures are probably within proper range ... a sticking thermostat can also cause increased temperature range fluxuations .. that will show up as large swings of temp while driving .....
