SOURCE: Nissan Altima 2000 - Engine oil leaking problem.

replace the front oil seal. first i would clean the engine with purple power (degrease etc.) then look at the engine and make sure the leak is not coming from above like possibly the valve cover gasket or from the oil sending unit. try to tighten the bolts on the valve cover and even the oil pan. you never know, you may get lucky. i don't know where you are but front seals are cheap but the labor on the job is what costs you.

Look up overhead above the sending unit for any oil that maybe dripping from above, makeing you think it's the sending unit leaking. If not then you may use a little thread sealer to seal the leak. Also check to see if the sending unit is loose and the threads may not be the same as the old unit you removed (metric/standard/pipe) Hope this will help you.

Where is my leak coming from?

Juan, Oil could be leaking from a lot of different location, places to start looking are oil pressure switch, valve cover gasket, timing cover/crank seal, oil pan gasket, etc. Engine may have to be washed down to locate leak. Have a good tech. scan vehicle for trouble codes, diagnose why car dose not run and estimate repair. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

I have a 2008 Nissan Altima and I took it today to have any oil change. I was told that I have a "bad oil cooler". I am female and I have very little knowledge of a cars structure unfortunately. What...

This sounds kind of odd. Most cars don't have an oil cooler. Usually trucks (especially with towing package) have an oil cooler. If the car is an automatic then you have a cooler for the transmission "oil" but it is usually part of the radiator. I would look around on line and first see if you can find a Nissan site that mentions this vehicle having an oil cooler. Unless your car is leaking oil or oil pressure reads way off center (if you have oil gauge in dash) I would be thinking you are not getting a correct answer. If car shows no major issue with oil I wouldn't be spending money on fixing an "oil" issue. Especially if car did not come with a dedicated oil cooler.

Can I use 5W-30 Synthetic engine oil for my 2008 Honda Accord

I don't see how that would be a problem - - keep in mind if you switch from regular to synthetic you need to stay with it.

My 95 camaro v-6 3.8l has an oil leak. It is spraying oil onto the inside of the hood and engine compartment. I can't visually see where it is coming from. Any ideas???????

A "spray" is not a leak.. That sounds more a like an Oil Sending Unit .. Peep near the oil filter and look for a screw-in thingy with wires ( or wire ) goin to it.. Its unther the car near the front of the engine withing 6 inches of the oil filter
