I think that when you hit the curb your distributer moved (all depending on the year of your truck). Go to a garage and have them check your timing with a timing light, or just for now you can do it by ear. Just make sure to tighten the hold down bracket with a 1\2 " wrench.

About your steering... I would check your ball joints, track bar, tie rods, pitman arm, and other steering components to see if there is any play. As for your steering jurking around, it could be a bad wheel bearing (or if it is cold where you live maybe your steering stabilizer seal is worn and some water got inside and froze causing a lack of steering).

1998 audi a4 1.8t steering wheel jerks to the left repeatedly while driving. The more pedal you give it, the more it jerks. It usually has to warm up a little.

After the car warms up are there bubbles or foam in the power steering fluid res. or is the pump noisy? Will the steering wheel jerk to the left when the vehicle is at a stop? Will the steering wheel shutter if the front wheels are off the ground? If you do find that your system mixing air into the fluid you will need to find out why. It will be somewhere between the Res, and the pump. If no is the answer please look elsewhere. I would suspect tires (belting failure or inflation), brakes dragging, loose/worn wheel bearing, steering or suspension. Please let me know what you find or if there is anything else. Good luck.

Why my key want turn for 300 chrysler 300

If the key won\'t turn it suggests the steering wheel is pressing hard on the stop that locks it. Try twisting the steering wheel left and right while attempting to turn the key. That happened to me once when I parked on a hill and turned the wheels so it would bump the curb and not roll away. I had to jerk the steering wheel pretty hard before it let go. If that doesn\'t fix it you may have a real problem inside the switch where something came loose and is blocking the switch from turning. I sure hope jerking the wheel with fix this for you.

2000 intrigue, seems like right front wheel jerks, 3.5, 153k mi

The "jerking" can be normal because that is the wheel that the power is going to..
If the jerking is "too much" it could be out of allingment or could be a warn out bushing or a bad ball joint in the front end.. Jack up the front of the car (be safe) leaving the front wheel hanging free.. **** the wheel left to right.. You should be able to see if anything is loose or not moving properly..

Steering problems with my 98 Chevrolet k1500

There is a unit in the steering column called a steering speed sensor. Replace it and all is well. I had to do it on my 1998 Chevy at 140,000 miles and all is good. Have since done it on another 1500 and it corrected its problem too.

Steering

sound like your powersteering pump or steering rack and pinion
could be bad.i would say it is your rack and pinion because if your pump was bad your steering would be real hard to turn instead of being jerky.jerking is usally the sign of a bad rack
