If this vehicle has one serpentine belt chances are the belt must be replaced, look to see if there are visible cracks on the contact surface of the belt if so replace the belt if not then there may be a component in the pulley system that is starting to seize, the squeal is the pulley wheel offering more resistance at certain times therebye causing the noise, with the belt off try turning each pulley to see if binding is occuring, also check each pully wheel for loosness or play the bearing may be worn if play is detected.

05 legacy sqealing sound when I'm stopped and turn

All symptoms of a loose or worn drive belt. As the belt wears, it develops slick spots that slip instead of grab. Since the main drive belt drives the power steering and alternator, this would be consistent with your issue.

2008 escalade sqeals. Had the belts changed but didn't help. Only happens when moving. Mechanic can't figure it out!

just check first that which belt sqeals, if its the AC belt then your compressor might b hard so replace it and if its the other belt then jst check your pulleys and bearings they might have gone hard.. if u can replace them its the best but if u can not then simply apply some grease on the belt which is sqealing.. thanks

All the adjustments are made at the alternator. You need to loosen the top and bottom bolt and if has an adjuster behind the alternators top bolt then that needs to be backed off as well.Slide the alternator towards the block{may need to loosen the alternator bracket bolt at the head].Remove the belt and put on the new one .Adjust the belt until ther is about a 1/2" of play in it and test run,if it squeals after start up tighten it some more until the sqealing stops.

I think you should start by putting a new belt on. This may solve the problem.

My 1999 malibu screeches loud .

Is this screeching like a sqealing? It will be a belt problem, the belt is slipping on the pulley system you may be able to adjust tension or spray on some belt dressing but will most likely need to change the belt hope this helps you, good luck
