I have a 1999 corvette and the horn will not blow when pushing on the horn pad. It beeps when locking the car and security system.how do I locate the problem.
Thanks Bob
Normally there is a horn relay, try replacing that. The contacts can weld together and keep the horn on. If you take the relay out and leave it out, you won't have a horn but at least it won't be blowing all the time.
disconnect the plug(s) at the horns. install a new fuse. if it blows then the problem in in the wiring. if it doesnt blow, plug in the horns one at a time to find the one that causes the problem. replace horn
Well the horn relay is most likely the problem with the horn, and try adding some freon ,this should solve the problem with the ac,if this was at all helpful, please rate thank you.
First u need to check horn by direct battery supply, before that u can try to hear the horn relay sound. If horn & horn relay is ok then u can check steering horn switch/ Ribbon. Wel, is there glowing chk light ?
There is an inline fuse, and relay for the horn behind the center instrument panel. If the fuse is good then follow the dark green wire from the relay to the horns. You can ohm the wire to see if there is an open circuit from the relay to the horns.Hope this helps.Good luck.
Have you tried replacing the horns themselves? Have you checked all the fuses relating to the horns? Relay? Maybe its the horn button itself? Hope this helps.
