Is your overdrive working ? - drive your truck at highway speed and push and o/d button (does the transmission shift down into a lower gear? Then push the button again (does the transmission shift back into a higher gear?

Check your owners manuel for a fuse .. if there is no fuse for o/d then the overdrive soleniod in no working ... the solenoid is located inside the transmission pan attached to the valve body -- first check to see if the connections on the transmission are good.. sometimes a wire will come dislodged from the group of wires in the plug

My 99 ford ranger keeps blowing fuse # 27. Utube video said in column, scuffed wires to O/D buttonn dismantled column, no scuffed wires Where do I look next?

This fuse also powers , transmission control switch , DRL module , back up lights switch , digital transmission range sensor and the pulse vacuum hublock solenoid .
DRL module is daytime running lamp module . look at the transmission range sensor . Disconnect thing's one at a time till fuse no longer blows or disconnect everything an then replace fuse the connect thing's one at a time till it blows , then you found your problem circuit .

2008 honda cr-v 5-speed automatic... push overdrive button on shifter and indicator light D3 comes on. What exactly is this telling me....that overdrive is engaged or that it's disengaged and

If all is working well with the transmission. when you push the button and the light comes on, you should feel a down shift at higher speeds. the 3D light would come on. You are at that point out of overdrive. Pushing the button again, you would feel it going into to overdrive. This is normal

I have a 2001 ford focus, my wife spilt water on the gear shifter and now the overdrive light will not go off even if the button is pushed

First of all...water and electrical connections don't mix well. Since the overdrive button is located on the left side of the shifter, and your wife spilled water on the shifter, the water has likely caused an electrical short.

With the ignition key off, try using compressed air to blow out any possible water or moisture around the shifer button and at the base of the shifter itself. Since the overdrive button has electrical connections inside the shifter, the water has probably caused a short. (I repeat...water and electrical connections don't mix well) If this doesn't cure the problem, you may need to disassemble the shifter mechanism and check for water or moisture. The electrical connections or wiring may be wet inside the shifter, which is likely causing the problem. Blow the areas out with compressed air and make sure everything is clean and dry. Then reassemble the shifter mechanism and reheck to see if this cures the problem.

Good Luck!

My 1994 Ford Ranger SuperCab won't shift into the overdrive. All the other gears in the tranny shift smooth and work well. It just won't shift into the overdrive. Every once in a while the check engine...

There is an overdrive bypass switch on the end of the shift lever on some, Push the button on the end of the shifter. It is easy to overlook, as it is on the very end of the shift lever, and can be inadvertently switched off when you shift to park. Hope this solves your problem

Trying to locate fuse for fuel pump for 04 ford ranger edge

It's location is in the fuse/relay box under the hood. It's a 20 amp fuse in position 23.

If the fuse is OK there's a fuel pump shut off switch located under the the glove box just above the carpet. To reset it, turn the ignition switch off, push the button on the switch, then turn the ignition on wait a few seconds then turn the ignition off.

Hope this helps

2005 ford ranger 4L 4x4 overdrive does not engage when button on shifter is pushed. I also do not see the light on the cluster on

If you have it in 4 LOW, you would never need overdrive. Overdrive is a road high gear that you would use only in 4 HIGH (or 4H) on your shifter. 4L (or 4 Low) would only be used in a very slow speed hill climb. You would NEVER use 4 Low on the road.

Overdrive is always on

The prob is a fragile wiring harness at the base of your shifter handle, the wirings easily break from movement when shifting from park to drive. The wires can be respliced or the handle can be replaced
