Occassionally my dash gauges and radio will loose power while my red battery indicating light will come. My dash lighting stays on. Also, if my headlights are on they will flicker from normal to brighter light. While this is happening my explorer is running fine. What gives? I replaced the original battery but the problem persists.

There are two things that could cause this problem. You either have a bad ground somewhere(like the grounding strap that goes from the engine to the frame, the one going from battery to frame, or something similer, or your alternator is going out. It sounds like the voltage regulator in the alternator is going out(will cause the computers to make the instruments do funky things)which would require alternator replacement. The difficult part of it, is unless it is doing it continuously, you won't be able to bench test the alternator and get reliable results. I suggest that you check the grounds, to rule them out, and look at a replacement alternator if that fails to fix the problem.

Yes, your problem remains in the alternator, also known as the generator wich alternates current to charge your batterry while accessories are on, eg, lights cd player and so forth, maybe a diode is losing the capability to handle the load, i recommend replacing the alternator or alternatively re-condition it. but that is most definately your problem.

I have a 2002 f150 I worked on starter and got going but now my radio wipers reverse lights and heater will not work. Please help I'm cold!!!!

Sorry about that! It appears you may have blown a bunch of fuses in your driver's under dash fuse box by possibly arcing voltage from the starter connection to the battery. Check it out...there are too many devices not working for anything else other than a ground wire under the dash coming loose or a multiple wire connection under the dash coming loose....

My 2004 envoy will not start. A couple nights ago the lights on the dash were going crazy on and off. I would lose power on the radio and the dash gauges would lose power (fuel, battery, water) they...

Check the connections at the battery. Loose connections or corroded connections will cause this same symptom.

It is not uncommon for side terminal batteries to also have a problem internally between the mounting button (the place that the cable end bolts to) and the internal connection to the battery.

What sounds like what is happening is the connection is good enough to power up a light load, dash lights, gauges, radio, etc, but when a heavy load is demanded the connection heats up and looses continuity.

I see this issue more on fords but I have seen a fair amount of GM's with this issue.

I have a 2004 expedition...occassionally all intrerior lights, wimdows, radio, gauges do not work...found if we kick fusebox under glovebox it works....what do i need to replace??

Sounds like a wiring connection is bad, either loose or corroded. I would disconnect the battery, pull the fuse box out and inspect the wiring behind the fuse connections.

Lost all electrical power while driving?

Sounds like a poor connection from either the positive or ground from the battery. Check connections at the battery, follow the cables to see if any other connections are loose.

My dash board guages in my H2 don't come on

My solution to dashboard instrument panel gauges and lights not working was to disconnect negative cable to car battery, then reconnect. After doing so, everything worked.

And the solution to instrument panel coming on and off sporadically may also be a loose battery connection.
