Citroen jumper gear change

Your description makes me remember an old Austin Metropolitan I had once. The gear linkage was crude and it was possible sometimes to engage two gears at once resulting in a lock-up and a stalled engine. It never happened while driving at speed.

When repairing a gearbox, once the selector linkage has been removed it is usual to select two gears in order to lock the shafts for the tightening or loosening of a retaining nut. There is built into the internal selector linkage an interlock to prevent two gears being selected.

I imagine that interlock in your gearbox is worn or broken...

Shift fork wont move/all hydrolics replaced

Just a suggestion here but my son was experiencing the same problem with his Toyota Celica. We replaced the clutch and throwout bearing and MC, had me stumped for days the I pulled back the rubber boot on the MC where the it comes through the firewall under the dash and saw that there was fluid leaking into the boot so basically the MC was bad an it was bypassing the metering valve causing the fluid not to push the slave cylinder all the way down for engagement. On another car ...a 97 Saturn SL it wouldn't shift into gear, also all new clutch components. Wound up being a bad top right side motor mount was bad. engine was sagging just enough to cause the clutch not to shift properly. I hope this helps.

Oldsmobile cutlass 1993 Wont engage when engine cold.

Check your transmission fluid level You will need to top it up if low. Low fluids mean that not only will the transmission be slow to respond but when it engages gear it does so with a bit of thump. If the fluid stays low this thumping of the gear changes will eventually shear off the input shaft. Also check the linkage located from beneath the gear shift to the transmission casing and adjust it if necessary. My guess is that topping up the transmission fluid to its proper levels will solve the problem without need for any adjustment

It is very difficult to engage the first gear of my skoda fabia

Exchange the transmission fluid with a synthetic lube for easier engagement. Shift to second first before shifting to first helps as well.

Could not engage gear at a stop light; some grinding~finally into gear~couldn't engage 1st or 2nd; could manipulate gear shift without the clutch engaged! Parked vehicle overnight~next...

Sounds like low fluid in the hydraulic clutch system, look under the hood next to the firewall on the drivers side should be a small resevior with a black top. Remove the top and check the level, if it gets even slightly low this problem will occur. it takes dot 3 or 4 brake fluid. If it is not low it could be that your slave cylinder is going bad. Also you may need to change out the fluid in your transmission, recomended at 60,000 mile intervals.
