MY 2002 CHEVY MALIBU HAS A BEEPING NOISE IN THE DASH BOARD (divers side) WHEN IT STARTS UP NOW, WHY IS THAT? I bought a new gas cap with a lock. The local store had a guide which said I could use that cap. I tried putting back the orginal gas cap. No beeping noise when I drive, but when the car is parked the beeping comes back.

The gas cap is part of the emissions system and if faulty needs replacing by an oem on newer used one.

2002 chevy malibu and beeping noise in left hand side of car when car is idling. No beeping sound when car is running.

I suggest you try one of those instant downl oad manuals. My nephew bought one for me when my car broke and we could fix it all by ourselves with the manual. This website www.reliable-store.com is very good for this.

Where is the fuse for the 2002 chevy malibu taillights

open drivers side door all the way and the fuse box is at end of dash board. Look on the bottom-left side of the interior fuse compartment; there is a fuse labeled "Stp Lps" (stands for Stop Lamps). Grasp the fuse with the fuse puller; pull it straight out.

Starts but quits

If the engine starts and then quits when you release the key to the ON position it could be the anti-theft systemhas locked out. Turn your key to the ON position and wait ten minutes until the ANTI-THEFT light on the dash board goes out. The car will now start and run if that was the problem.
