You will need to have the transmission removed to access the torque converter. A new torque converter should fix things unless debris from the damage has spread throughout the trans, in which case a strip down of the trans is the way to go...or a new/secondhand trans is installed.......
Possibly the "Mass airflow sensor". I had a similar problem, basically the car behaved like it didn't have a turbo and was really slow. Unfortunately the Mass airflow sensor is expensive, about AU$800. Only failed once several years ago. Hope this helps.
There is a leaking coolant hose, or a perforation of the Heater Matrix.Often a temporary quick fix is to shut off the incoming Hot Coolant and crimp the return to engine hose with a Long Nose snap lock.
