Everytime I have electrical issues with my car the fuel guage turns all the way clockwise and gets jammed up under the stop. Is there anyway to fix this without taking off the dash? If not, how do I take the dash off?
That happened to me when my battery died...when i put in a new battery the next day..it reset. Try leaving the battery disconnected for 15 hours. If that duznt work....a magnet moves the needle!!!

To confirm if the fault is with the Rheostat float within the fuel tank or the fuel guage in the dashbboard, you can remove the wiring to the fuel tank float. If the guage reading changes- to full- then the guage is good and the fault can be a jammed rheostat which can be removed from the tank and replaced after draining the tank. The guage can be tested on the outside with a ground wiring to the plate of the fittings and as the float is moved the guage must show a change in reading. if not the voltage must be measured to confirm the working of the guage.
the fuel guage will only be accurate on level ground,, when you stop or go around the corner the fuel sloshes around in to tank causing the level at the float to change,, thus the guage reads different
you will need to have the cluster (guages) repaired or replaced. (for the vibration). You will need to do this first.
They also have problems with the fuel level sensor in the tank, the contacts corrode and will give false readings. BUT this will not cause the guage to vibrate as you have described.
yes your engine is fuel injected and is pressure sensetive so a weak fuel pump with low prerssure creats a real problem for the best performance of the vehicle
The electric fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. Lift up the rear carpet in the load area and you should see a round plate , remove the screws and then the plate. There will be the fuel pump along with the fuel pick up and sensor for the guage. Turn the big round plastic outer ring anti clockwise and then the electric connection and fuel pipes. now it can be removed. Refit is reversal of removal. Are you sure the pump is faulty, did you check the fuse. If the fuse is ok , then gain access to the fuel pump, but before removing, get a test lamp and see if you have power getting to the pump, using the electric connection, try with just the contact first and also with the engine cranking/turning over. This will erradicate any misdiagnosis , wether its the pump or an electric installation problem.
Hope this helps
go to a muffler shop and hve the system tested for leaks, don't take chances, the gas guage issue is caused by the fuel tank sending unit being defective.
It's very unlikely that changing the spark plugs would cause the fault you describe. In fact I can't see how it could.
Your car may not be using more fuel - it may be that the fuel gauge is giving a false reading of what is in the tank.
I would suspect the fuel sender unit - it's in the fuel tank. The unit is electrically operated via a rheostat - as the float level moves up and down according to the level of fuel in the tank it alters the current - which gives a reading as your fuel gauge.
You should be able to see the electrical connectors of the sender unit on the top of the tank (you may have to remove the rear seat or a panel inside the car - above the tank). Check the wires for cleanliness and security.
If the problem persists ask a workshop for a second opinion. It's not a difficult job changing a sender unit, though I don't know how much one would cost for your vehicle.
