Question about 1994 Toyota Camry

My sister has a 94 sle, she has a leak at the cooling fan for the radiator. This fan looks to me like it runs off the power steering, how is this possible?

Trying to find the problem i as soon as i feel my power steering tank up it leaks all out w n a hr an it runs my cooling fan hydro by a line but i looked an looked on all the lines an cannot find the leak...


Start by checking if the cooling lines run into the radiator. There may be a leak internally on the radiator in the lines run through it. Also check to see if the fluid is leaking from the center shaft on the pulley on the pump. If your power steering fluid is leaking into the radiator your antifreeze will look like a cloudy pink color the same as if your transmission fluid leaks into the radiator. If it is, replace the radiator. If it is leaking out of the shaft replace the power steering pump.

The 2000 dodge grand caravan has two lines running from a cylinder just to the right and bottom of the radiator. it looks like power steering fuel runs through


if their metal, the could be coming from transmission fluid lines, are they going into radiator ? one @ top & one @ bottom of rad . their cooling lines from trans, supply / return . if rubber lines, they go to a transmission cooler , looks like a small radiator, rectangular , supply / return. power steering has no cooling . these lines don't come from engine, power steering has power steering fluid NOT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR TRANSMISSION FLUID, TOTALLY DIFFERANT !!!!!!

Car overheated and lost all power. how do I get it to start?


ENGINE NOT GOING TO START IF GET TOO HOT FIRST THING I WOULD REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP THEN ADD COOLANT UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL CORRECT THATS WHEN THERMOSTAT OPEN UP AND TOP HOSE HOT.CHECK FOR LEAKING RADIATOR HOSES CHECK TOP RADIATOR HOSE CHECK BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE.CHECK FOR LEAKS AROUND THE RADIATOR LOOK DOWN BELOW COOLANTS FANS CHECK FOR LEAKS AT RADIATOR CORES OR LEAKS AT THE RADIATOR PLASTIC SIDE CONTAINERS. CHECK FOR LEAKS AT WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE AND CHECK FOR LEAKS AT THE HEATER HOSES AROUND ENGINE BLOCK TO THE HEATER CORE HOSES. CHANGE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP.CHECK COOLANT LEVEL.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 50/50 ANTIFREEZE AND WATER.MAKE SURE COOLING FANS COMING ON WHEN ENGINE REACHES 190 DEGREES.TO SEE IF COOLANT FANS RUNNING TURN ON CAR AIR CONDITIONER TO SEE IF FANS RUN IF NOT CHECK COOLING FANS FUSES.IF FUSES GOOD I AM LOOKING AT A FAULTY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.IF ALL IS GOOD.NO LEAKS AT RADIATOR HOSES + HEATERS HOSES. NO LEAKS AT WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE OR GASKET.NO LEAKS AT RADIATOR.LAST RESORT CHECK ENGINE OIL. IF LOOKS LIKE MILK SHAKE YOU HAVE LEAKING HEAD GASKET.THAT WILL CAUSE ENGINE OVERHEATING.

I am not sure if the radiator fan is working on my 92 v6 camry its not over heating but never see or hear the fan running is there a fuse or relay that might have gone out. I cant even see any wires that...


The radiator fan in the 92-95 models of V-6 Toyota and Lexus vehicles is a weird design. The fan is not electric but runs off the power steering pump. The power steering pump moves fluid through hoses to the radiator fan, thereby creating its rotation. A sensor monitors coolant temperature and signals a solenoid on the power steering pump when more or less cooling is needed. The power steering pump then speeds up or slows down to provide more or less fan speed.

This system seems to work pretty well. However, there is a connector that goes to the power steering pump that is critical to proper operation. In engine work this connector often gets overlooked when reassembly is done. This results in the fan running at constant speed and not increasing rotation when more cooling is needed. This becomes a problem primarily when the car is idling or moving at a slow speed.

If your car is not overheating in these situations, the fan is probably operating okay.

Power steering leak from part mounted under frame looks like a type of cooling coil


I would guess if it looks like cooling coil it is a power steering cooler. Will need to be removed and repaired or replaced. Some radiator shops can repair oil coolers.

You probably lost the shaft bearing and seal in the pump. Replace the pump as it probably has damaged internal parts as well. Is this an engine driven fan or an electric one? If the engine tossed the belt during this event, it may have caused the fan to become damaged. If an electric fan, the shaft may be bent--replace the motor. If engine driven fan, you will need to disassemble it to find it's problem. Inspect the drive belt(s) for wear or damage. Recheck for proper cooling action after everything is back together.

Replacing the cooling fan on a 1993 toyota camry


On the '92-95 V6 Camry, the radiator fan is hydraulically operated by the power steering fluid and power steering pump. If the fan isn't running as fast as it should be, check your power steering fluid level.
