Has this been taken apart before?? there are o rings inside the connector and a lil plastic backer piece, they can dry out and tear when pulled apart or score enuff to leak . is the fitting clean or rusty
same with the line, was it taken apart with the propper tool????
the coupler can be repacked if all the pieces are there. if indoubt
go to an auto wrecker and get a section of line with the fitting complete disassemble and repack yours be careful no damage
if beyond your ability get a garage to fix it ,leaky gas can spray back onto your exhaust n catch fire be aware!

Unscrew it and replace the "O" ring at the fitting. These "O" rings like to get old and crack.

I did this job on my 3.1 about 2 months ago and i forgot to put the ("O") ring on back fuel rail. had a fuel mess!! had to tear down plenum to fix, in my case i lost the o ring on rail and forgot to put 1 on. I had to order 1 from chevy garage, and replaced it. cost 9.00 just for 1 little o ring. mine fit tight also!! see if o ring is ok, and check line. car runs fine!!

How much time will it take to tune up and replace fuel injector connector pigtail and purge connector pigtail????

It should purge right away after replacing the pigtail connector. These are notorious for leaking at the fuel line to fuel rail connection in which case it would only be about 20 bucks for a splice kit. Then you need a heat gun to splice it.

(1) If fuel injectors are to be installed, refer to Fuel
Injector Removal/Installation.
(2) Clean out fuel injector machined bores in
intake manifold.
(3) Apply a small amount of engine oil to each fuel
injector o-ring. This will help in fuel rail installation.
(4) Position fuel rail/fuel injector assembly to
machined injector openings in cylinder head.
(5) Guide each injector into cylinder head. Be careful
not to tear injector o-rings.
(6) Push right side of fuel rail down until fuel

1993 dodge dinesty 3.4 fuel rail leaks how can i repair

If the metal fuel rail itself has a leak, it should be replaced. If it is leaking by an injector, the O-rings on the injectors need to be checked and probably replaced. If a fuel line to the rail is leaking, that will have to be repaired. There will be two fuel lines at the rail, the feed line in from the gas tank, and a return line from the rail back to the tank. If there is a pressure regulator on the fuel rail (it will have a short vacuum line hose to it), the regulator may also have an o-ring to keep from leaking where it mounts.

Fuel leaking on drivers side of frame

My Econoline is a 1995. There are fuel line running down that side of the frame rail. This is where the fuel filter is, these fuel lines have special connectors, which require a special tool to release. You may have a leaking connection, or a damaged fuel line. You'll have to inspect visually to determine.

My husband has a 2004 Chrysler Intrepid. On June 21, 2011 the engine light came on and we took it took it to the garage . The mechanic replaced the intake gasket for a vaccum leak , well since then it...

Take it back and he will fix it, maybe a o-ring where the fuel line connects to the fuel rail or if he removed the injectors, then a o-ring maybe pinched, loose fuel line fitting. something minor, but dangerous, can catch fire real easy, I would have it towed to be safe.

Where do I check the rubber hoses for a vacuum leak for the fuel rail pressure sensor. In other words where is it located? Thanks, Mike From previous post for code P0191 <<The fuel rail...

the fuel rail pressure sensor is located in between the high pressure line and the fuel rail on the passenger side. It will have 1 vacuum hose and one connector going to it.

How do you install injectors in a chevy s-10 pick-up?

Removal & Installation

Exploded view of the fuel rail and injector mounting

Take care when servicing the fuel rail assembly to prevent dirt or contaminants from entering the fuel system. ALL openings in the fuel lines and passages should be capped or plugged while disconnected.
  1. Before disassembly, clean the fuel rail assembly with a spray type cleaner such as AC Delco® X-30A, or equivalent. After removal, DO NOT immerse the fuel rail in liquid solvent.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the air intake duct, as necessary for access.
  4. Tag and disengage the fuel injector electrical connectors.
  5. Disengage the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line, then tag and disengage all other necessary vacuum hoses.
  6. Loosen and remove the fuel rail retaining bolts.
  7. If necessary to remove the fuel rail assembly completely from the engine compartment, or to prevent stressing and damaging the fuel lines, disconnect the fuel lines from the rail assembly.
  8. Carefully lift the fuel rail assembly and fuel injectors from the intake.
  9. Carefully release and separate the fuel injectors from the rail assembly.
  10. Remove and discard ALL old O-rings from the fuel injectors and, if disconnected, the fuel lines.
To install:
  1. Lightly coat the new O-rings with clean engine oil, then position them to the injectors and, if applicable, fuel fittings.
  2. Install the injectors to the fuel rail assembly.
  3. Carefully install the fuel rail and injectors to the intake manifold. Make sure the injectors are properly seated in their bores, but DO NOT force them into position.
  4. Install and tighten the rail retaining bolts to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  5. If removed, connect the fuel lines to the rail assembly and secure the fittings.
  6. Engage the fuel pressure regulator and any other vacuum lines, as noted during removal.
  7. Engage the injector electrical connectors.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable and cycle the ignition switch (without attempting to start the engine) in order to pressurize the fuel system, then check for leaks.
  9. Install the air intake duct.

After removing the fuel injectors and rail to remove the manifold, how do you reinstall the fuel injectors?

the same way you took it apart. put a little grease around the rubber seals so they will slide in easier. just tap on the fuel rail while lightly tapping it into place.
