Probable low on coolant check your coolant lvl, if it is full then you may have a restricted heater core, in the case of the heater core one of the heater hoses will be much cooler than the other, you can reverse the hoses and sometimes remove the restriction enough to make descent heat

I want to mention that back flushing the heater core could plug your radiator, IT is best to but a flush kit then remove both hoses and then flush the heater core, if the water is rusty you may get a leak from the heater core, If the water flushes both ways OK and you still have the problem you could have a broken water pump impeller shaft and at idle it could barley turn but at higher idle it would move enough water this is a missed problem many times so wanted to add this just in case yo did not have any luck with the first option.

Why does the heater blow hot air when I drive after its been idling for 15min and not during the idle when it reaches the 100 Temp?...(it blows cold air in idle)

Firstly, a thermostat that opens quicker will not give you better heat. Your heater core may be partially plugged causing a low flow issue. Another area to check would be the water pump impeller for corrosion or slipping on the shaft. Does the vehicle's cooling system operate well otherwise?

Hot heat at idle cool when driving

is there a chance that one of your heater hoses are clogged? or where they connect to the engine are clogged still? sounds like a clogged system. Cracked heater housing? Outside air bypassing the heater coil while driving?

04 gmc yukon heater air cold passanger side.

If this happens when you are idle, and then you get hot air as you drive, most likely you have low coolant and it only cycles as you drive. Get approved dextrom gmc coolat and cap off your coolant it is most likely low.

Heater blows cold air when idle

Sounds like you may have a partially plugged heater core. You could flush this out separately, from flushing radiator & engine block. Diconnect heater hoses going to your heater core and clamp off, so not to loose coolant from engine. Now hook up separate hose to one side of heater core pipe and flush out with typical garden hose. Repeat procedure on both heater core inlets. Reconnect original heater hoses and test difference. You may have to add an additional litre of antifreeze. If this don't work i suggest changing heater core. Good luck.........Ron.

Heater system not putting out hot air

with the engine idling you water temp might not get hot enough to open your thermostat that lets hot water go through your heater core. I would first have the easiest thing changed. the thermostat could be you main problem.I hope this helps you.
