36mm is the consensus of opinion, but in reality, it is the socket that 'FITS'! Most socket sets come in metric and imperial, you use that one that is the best fit.

I believe you have a Dana 50 front axle. 2004 and up come with Dana 60. You can upgrade to the Dana 60 as a drop in.

When i lock the hubs in on my 1992 explorer and go to put it in 4x4 the lights will not come on and will not engage?

You might have to check the vacuum/electrical connections on the throwout-throwin solenoid located on the frontal portion of the passenger side of the front axle. This is the most common cause of this problem. Thank you, Dana
