Over heating with no signs of leaks. I have a 2001 Toyota Land Cruser that just started to over heat. Liquid is full in radiator and top hose draining back into radiator is hot. No leaking any where I can see.

Worst case, you could have a blown head gasket. Look for water in the engine oil or oil in the coolant water. May have to go to a mechanic for a compression check or a dye check.

Could be a couple of things your thermostat could be faulty or sticking.your radiator or heater core could be getting plugged up to where theres not enough flow or your water pump is goin and last but id check first your belt need to be tighter could be slippin or one more your fan clutch which is just behing the fan could be weak an not driving the fan hard enough.

When the engine has reach certain temperature the thermostat opens up to allow the coolant to circulate. To check this, warm up the engine to normal operating temperature. The bottom and the top hose should be about the same temperature indicating coolant circulates freelly. If you gonna check this touching the hoses be carefull as they get really hot. Another cause of overheating is dirty radiators. If lets say you had been putting tap water in your radiator, it will get dirty over time caused by sediment in the tap water, and rust. Coolant has anti rust properties in them to prevent rusting of the cooling system. An indicator of dirty radiator is overheating at frwy speed. Another possible cause is a bad radiator fan, which have tendency to overheat when the vehicle is stopped, or in traffic, and city driving. The least possible cause is an over retarted timing. Newer cars usually don't have problem with timing being retarted since time is not adjustable, and this type of everheating is more common on older cars, which is usually caused when someone adjust the timing back to far. although you said there is no visible leaks, and the coolant pretty much stays the same I rule out a possible leak which can cause the coolant level to get to low which can cause overheating problem.

2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette...Overheating, changed the thermostat, no signs of leaking, and the oil looks fine. At idle it takes 20 minutes to max the temperature gauge (red) and while driving it take

Usually the problem with no heat and overheating is low coolant, thermostat, or a faulty water pump impeller.
The radiator may not be full of liquid coolant, or the pump may not be moving the coolant thru the block.

Audi a6 quattro 2001 coolant disappears, engine overheats and white smoke comes out

Unfortunate you're losing coolant into the cylinders, where it's being burned off and exiting out the exhaust. When you initially added that cold coolant into the hot radiator, and hot engine (sit down) you likely cracked the engine block. Best case you just need to replace the head gasket.

Enjin over heating

when the enging is cool, remove the rediator cap and add water/antifreeze until it is full. you may need to start the car to get it full, then check it a few times after that. just dont open the radiator when the engine is hot. once the radiator is full put the cap back on and let the engine run until warmed up. look for any signs of a hose or the water pump leaking. that could be the reason for the overheating. replace any leaking hoses and or water pump. good luck ! Toyota Corolla 2003 CE. Car started overheating, Pulled over and steam was coming from engine. Found out radiator seemed to be leaking. poured antifreeze into radiator and heard liquid splashing on ground...

You may need to "burp" the system and get the air out. When car has completely cooled, take radiator a off, start car, let it warm up (but not overheat) and see if level drops. Add coolant/water mix to top it off. Never run straight antifreeze. At most a 50/50 mix of distilled water and antifreeze.
Air can get trapped in areas of the system when its been drained. Just monitor that temp and don't risk damaging the engine by overheating.

My toyota land cruser is poor to start first thing espesialy when its cold , I have replaced the glow plugs and fuel fillter

didyou replace the manifold heater?
have you checked the relay?have you checked to see if there is actualy power getting to the glow plugs? and also the fuse .
It is very srtange ,if the glow plugs are working ,for it not to fire up straightaway .Does it miss when it does first start? If so, the glow plugs are not all working.Last thing try giving it a squirt of aero start, or starter fluid , if with that ,if it doesn`t start straight away, then you better come back to me as i have another idea what could be a problem but I dont think the glow plugs are working properly so try the aero start first "youdoit"

Coolant leaking

Hello Kasalama :

Is it possible to wash off the engine while protecting the distribuutor and other electronics so we can start with a clean and dry engine ? . * Make sure that your radiator is full and that the Radiator/ Coolant overflow reservoir is at the proper level . * I would put a large piece of cardboard on the floor and along with a bright flash light or shop light use it to guide you where the leak s coming from .

If that is not helpful , I would perform a pressure check on the cooling system . The pressure check can be performed as a diagnostic tool . Put the truck in park and apply the parking brake . Attach the pressure diapham and Start the engine . You will have to manually pump it to a specified pressure as indicated on the gauge/ manometer .

The pressure diaphram usally attaches where the " radiator cap " is . Applying pressure can show leaking hoses, pipes and leaks in the radiator or fittings .

Be mindful that you can also have a leaking Intake manifold Gasket .

I hope that this info has been of help to you .
