Sounds like a faulty wire set; also possible the wring is improperly installed and the end connectors are not making proper contact with the plugs/control module.
You should see a spark plug wire for each spark plug. The spark plugs are in the cylinder head. You have to unplug the plug wire first before you replace the plugs. Be careful as to not damage the plug wires when removing them. Be carefull not to get dirt into the cylinder when replacing the plug. Do not overtighten the new plugs. I can't remember which side of the engine the plugs are on, on your truck. You truck has the inline 5 cylinder I think.
Check the firing order. If it wasn't happening before then that's most likely your culprit. For a 2005 Chevy Suburban the firing order is as follows;
1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3
Another thing to check is resistance in the plugs and wires. Check to make sure they all have the factory specified resistance.
Probably coil pack. Follow spark plug wire from spark plug to where it plugs in, that is your coil pack.Some are seperatable. Depending on motor size you may have coil over plug. You said wires not (cop) coil over plug boots.If it is coil over plug it is just a boot you changed in that case the coils plug into boots & on plug & an electrical connector. They are seperate for each cylinder.
You have 100,000 miles before you have to replace the spark plugs or there is an issue that the cars ECM will indicate. You can get the step by step instructions at Auto Zone where you can buy the replacement spark plugs.
Keep in mind the spark plug wires is what transfers the electricty from the coil to the spark plugs #5 is bad then it is not going to receve proper curent.So usaly it is ideal to change all at the same time!don't forget to disconect battery to reset computer takes a couple of minutes to reboot the computer.Merry Christmas
