Can you rev the engine at about 2000 rpm and for how long without dropping down..
Does the engine have a miss at any time and what type of smoke does it blow (black all the time) while you are running.. Have you a turbo on the engine.
Check the exhaust and the best way is to take it off at the manifold and see if it makes any differance ,, and let me know ASAP RON

I ran a mixture of diesel and water thru my fuel system about three miles or so what do i do now

drain the fuel, change the filter, add fresh diesel. cycle the key several times and see if she fires up. you might have to crack the injector lines to help in bleeding the air out of the system. the good thing is the vp44 injection pump doesn't know what its pumping and 2001 24v cummins do not have electronic injectors, so you should be ok.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel?

It is located on the driver's side of the engine. You will see a yellow handle for the fuel/water separator drain valve at the bottom of the filter housing. The black plastic top unscrews and the filter can be pulled out.868820e.jpga75da07.jpg

Bought 01 dodge, 2yrs ago, has 300,000 miless,

Well, Hate to say this to you but your Cummins 24v turbo diesel does not have glow plugs. The fuel temperature necessary for proper ignition is heated by an element inside your fuel filter housing.

2007 Dodge 3500 cummins diesel was filled with E85 ethanol

Just drain the tank and refill with diesel fuel. Hit the starter for a second and leave the key on for the fuel to prime. You may have to do this a couple times to get it to start. Run it down the highway at normal cruising speed for a while and it should be ok. I wouldn't worry about the injectors yet unless it doesn't recover on it's own.

Charging problem on 1996 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel

I had the same problem on a 94 dodge with the cummins. It seems the crank sensor that reads from a notch on the harmonic balancer was the problem Without this sensor reading that the engine is running the alternator wont charge. Possibly the same problem with yours

Lose power while driving

Hi. I had the same problem on my 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins. I went to the dealer and they did a bunch of diagnostics and they replaced my fuel pump. At the same time they put in a retrofit kit that moved the fuel pump to the inside of the gas tank. I have not had the problem since. The cost was about $1,200, but my 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty covered it and I had to pay the $100 deductible.
