My high beams have no wiring harness going to the bulbs. The turn signals and low beams do.

Two fuses HDLP L fuse #36 15amp & HDLP R fuse #32 15amp ,located in the under hood fuse / relay box. One is for Left - low an high beams an the other is for right side low an high beams . What's wrong , no high beams ?

Is only one high beam headlamp inoperative?

Test for a high resistance, an open or a short to battery positive voltage in the high beam signal circuit of the headlamp dimmer switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

1. Disconnect the inoperative headlamp.
2. Using a test lamp connected to ground, probe the battery positive voltage circuit of the inoperative high beam headlamp.

Connect a test lamp between the headlamp high beam signal circuit and the battery positive voltage circuit of the inoperative high beam headlamp.

check ground(s) usually coming out of the harness trace back from headlight plug (on problem side ) until you find a ground coming out of harness and bolted to sheet metal in engine bay make sure there are no loose,corroded, broken ,or burnt wires

I think you just need new bulbs in both sides. The High and low beam are in one bulb.

Hi Steven, I guess you have checked the fuses? Some time (and I'n not saying this is your problem) the fuses are wired in such a way that if one blows (and the fuse is on the earth side of the circuit) there will be an output, but the circuit will either use the earth through the the other bulb or fail to earth. I would also suggest having a look at the relays and their operation. Lastly, check the earth connections again. Regards John

Find out the model of the light bulb you use and go to an auto parts store. Tell them you need a plug for bulb type xyz. Then just cut and splice the wires together, matching which wire goes where from the faulty plug. Should get the part for under $10.

You have a bad electrical connection. Check the wiring harness and both sides of it's connectors for corrosion and or breakage. The connector terminals will become worn and corroded and the wiring sheaths a prone to weathering and become brittle. Replace or clean as needed.

For the I6 engine there is a relay for low beams, it's relay # 46. Switch it with relay #45 (runs the fan, same model relay) and see if your lights now come on. These 2 relays are the only 2 black ones in there (part # 15016745). Also, try to clean the contacts very well on the fuse box and the relay. If not, you may have some frayed wiring in the harness.

By the way, the high beam relay is #43, the gray one next to the windshield wiper relay #42.

If you have separate bulbs for the low and high beams(4 light system), if you pull the turn signal and hold it, all 4 lights will stay on until you release the turn signal. You need to replace the bright bulb on the right side and the low bulb on the left side. If your headlights only have one bulb on each side, then you will have to replace both of them to get everything to work.

did you pull out the bulb and check it? it is possible that moisture got inside the connection b/w bulb and connecting plug/harness. which it is possible that moisture fouled the low beam circuit and not affect the high beam. (this happened to me) inspect for signs of moisture in the headlight lens and around the wiring. purchase new bulb,install new bulb turn on lights

check your relays, they are like big fuses in your engine compartment, if your low beam and high beam relays are the same model, switch them and see if this enables low beams and disables the high beams. if it not the relays, or fuses, then it is probably your wiring harness, an expensive repair.
