The pressure readings vary. A new healthy engine should be between 145 to 200 PSI. A bad reading would be all cylinders or one below 102 PSI. This also varies from engine to engine. If you have a Diesel Engine the PSI will be much higher. The best way to check an engine is to see if there is one cylinder much lower than another. If you suspect a bad piston ring do a wet test to make sure it is not a valve that is not seating properly or other head issues.
