My 94 Jeep grand cherokee has a thunking noise that sounds as if it comming from the front end when i turn or step on the brakes.. i checked the sway bar and nothing seems wrong.. please help

Ball joints, tie rods, sway bar links, bushings, wheel bearings...

check u-jounts and motor mounts and usually vib during braking is either rotors or hub

sounds like ball joints raise front end up check al conections in relation to front end .

Check the front stabilizer bar and the bushings on it. It is located under the radiator with arms that bend back to each front tire.

The noise and the light may or may not be related. The noise may be the wear indicator on the brake pads touching the rotor (they are supposed to do that when brakes are worn) The abs light triggers off a wheel on the axle end. If you have a bad joint on the axle, it could be noisy and causing the wheel to not have the proper clearance to the abs sensor. You really need to take the wheel and brake assembly off and carefully inspect everything. Make sure all abs sensor wires are undamaged...it doesn't have to be at the same wheel that's chirping.

Check sway bar. On some models as suspension sags, sway bar outer ends will contact the body, leaving a mark or dent just above the end, causing a bang over bumps. Only way to correct this is to change springs or add a spring lift.

if it is a roaring noise it is probably a wheel bearing going bad

have the rear sway bar bushings been replaced if not try that it should fix problem

you must replace and lube the front sway bar bushings,chrysler service bulletin calls it a squak, but can sound like a rubbing, a clunk etc the common factor is this is really noticeable the colder it gets outside
